oil cooler

I have a 2006 g6 with the 4cyl engine. I need a oil cooler part #12594525. The part is discontinued and all my routes to find it have come up dead-ends. I've tried vintage parts and all the gm and oem part web sites with no luck. Has anyone had this problem before or do you know a place to get this part other than a junk yard or taking the part off and getting it fixed at a radiator shop(no guarantee to work)?

Or even a place to get a aftermarket cooler. I'm ok with that. Thanks

Too bad you can't bypass it. The later 2.4 the cooler was dropped, not needed.

That's what I mean, make a adapter so it flows through. Where is it located, I'll look to see how it was eliminated.

It is behind the oil filter...I had a thought last night...because it leaks internally I may be able to use the cooler as a bypass, I can reinstall it, and plug the coolant ports with high temp oil resistant epoxy then the leak will be contained within the cooler..the coolant hoses extended and joined...sounds feasible?

Could you find some port fitting caps, would be better. You would need a fitting to join the hoses.

Blank caps on to the fitting, instead of the hose.
