P0443 Purge Solenoid Location

Hey all,

I'm sure this has been discussed before so I apologize if so. So I'm getting a P0443 code, which seems to be the purge solenoid but it doesn't seem to be in the same location the diagrams say it should be. According to the engine digram it should be between the EGR and throttle body.

Mine looks like it's bolted to the engine above the ECT sensor. Is that normal or am I looking at the wrong piece?

ok yes this has been covered. I have a 2006 with a 3.5 v6. The purge valve is located on passenger side next to the gas tank. if you lay down and look up right in front of the rear tire by the plate you can see the connector and part of the valve. Where you fill the gas tank if you look to the right there is a hole past a plastic piece. if you look on the other side up the inside of the fender you see the filler hose with to smaller hoses attached. The ribbed hose is the one that went to the hole on the right of the gas tank fill. If you follow it back above the rear axle assemble it will go to the one side of the purge valve. Several things on here and youtube about replacing it and checking it.

I have a p0449 large leak code and my wife took the car to the dealer. They did a smoke test and told her the vent valve was bad and located behind the motor. I am now looking for it on my 06 g6 with a 3.6. Also told her 36 buck part 400+change to replace it.

A few years ago I did the purge valve on mine. Backed it up on ramps. A floor jack with a 2x4 on top took loose 4 rubber pieces for the exhaust and 2 bands to lower the tank and had enough room to change it. A little pain but if a second time would be a few hour job. Longer first time figuring it out.

so I got this wrong and the vent valve is by the rear tire on passenger side
and the purge valve is on the driver side of the motor. Right by the intake.
. I know the links are in close but hope this helps.
