hello, i have a 2006 pontiac g6 as well, i have not had any lock ups but what i do have is when i am driving and i hit small bumps or turn the wheel left or right i get a high pitched squeaking noise.

Is the sound coming from the steering wheel or the tire area?

im honestly not sure, but i believe it is from the steering wheel and the tire.

any wild ideas?

i have the same noise! I was thinking it was the sterring shaft and the grinding noise are the bearing plates at the top of the struts. I still haven't tracked down the squeking noise yet. and when i go to the shop, it dosent dot it.

are you sure about the bearing plates? i had the replaced as well.

Ya I'm pretty sure about the bearing plates...I have gone s far as not turning my wheels while I'm not moving. That has stopped my grinding noise from my bearing plates, but I still have no idea about the squeak. I was thinking it was my steering shaft.
