Not only does the front fiesta, and spoiler look like crap, there is absolutely no difference in performance. What a huge disappointment, thanks for letting us down AGAIN GM!

^ I saw it at NAIAS and was disgusted, they kept all the ugly and gave nothing to compete with the next Altima SE-R. The Altima will have a coupe version and will walk all over this car. If anything it's a worthy successor to the Grand Am GT SCT package- also just cosmetic. Just when Pontiac was establishing a credible performance line with the Solstice and GP GXP they have to throw a dud into the mix. For crying out loud, even the Torrent GXP is going to have a different engine with more power (the 3.6 DOHC) than the rest of the line.

They dont list any HP ratings for the G6 GXP yet, so there may be hope. Also, where is the G6 GXP Sedan?

At the NAIAS, there was a plaque next to the show car that listed the 3.6L DOHC with 252 HP mated to the new 6 speed auto- same as the current GTP. IMO they don't list it on the website because there's nothing to brag about...

Wow, that is pretty lame. Maybe if we are lucky they will bump it up to 275 HP like some of the others with the 3.6 and the 6spd auto. GM should know by now that they will never sell a GXP when the cheaper GTP will be the same ride with less rice.

That article says 270-hp 3.9L motor. So maybe its gonna have a little more uhmpf to it

"This coupe is the second G6 GXP show car--the first was a sedan shown at the 2004 SEMA show. Sitting nearly an inch lower than a standard G6, this version sports a ram-air fed, 270-hp, 3.9-liter V-6 mated to a six-speed manual. Inside, Pontiac has added red chrome trim and red leather inserts for the seats and door panels. Exterior bolt-ons include nineteen-inch wheels and an aggressive body kit that adds, among other things, scoops for the ram-air system and a funky spoiler. The car's look brings to mind nothing so much as a G6 coupe dressed up in an ill-fitting, homemade Batmobile costume. But the truth is that it doesn't matter how it looks, because this car is exactly what the moribund G6 lineup needs. So forget the concepts--bring on the production car already."

The production G6 GXP will be out by the end of the Summer with the 252 hp 3.6l V6 and the 6 speed auto. Sorry.

well thats a bummer if I ever saw one!

Eh,compared to the N-Body power, its definately a step up in power. Just will have to see how much power you can get out of the 3.5L or 3.9L,which ever motor they use.

Thats the problem with GM mentality, someone decided the regular spec powertrain was "good enough" and ran with it. Class leading vehicles are not developed with a "good enough" train of thought. Thats one of the reasons the resale on our cars falls faster than a brick. The halo trim line should be something special that will increase the desireability of the base vehicles.

Damn shame for so much ugly. lol.

I bet it would have been easier to use the LNF from the Solstice GXP in there w/ a bit more boost thrown at it for good measure, instead of stumbling with this.

I'll take the 6 speed automatic for my GTP convert.

It's fascia. And I agree, the 'Hammerhead' is too much. I'll stick to the GT.

Sorry but, I like the look of the GXP street edition package on my Sedan model! More horsepower would have been nice :)
