Well, I'm going to be geting a new car in the next month or so and I'd like to find out some opinions from you all. All cars would have a manual transmission. If you have any others to consider let me know, they must be less than 5 years old and be availible for $15000-20000.

Personally I'd stick w/ the RWD options on your list. Additionally, do you plan on having passengers over yourself and one other?

My choices would be a GTO or S2000.

I'm at a point in my life where I don't need to carry a bunch of crap around, so 2 seats is plenty! I'll have this car for a while before I settle down and need a back seat/ big trunk.

The RX8, tough platform to build up, if you're not familiar with rotarys.

I do worry about the rotry thing, especially some of the horror stories I've heard with the renesis generation.

I think it would be equally fun to work on the GTO or Cobalt, both have a great aftermarket.

The S2000 has a whole lot of aftermarket too.
