Hi all,

I have several noises coming from the roof of my vehicle. They seem to all be coming from the panoramic roof. The noises range from a tapping to a popping to a knocking. Sometimes they are not as bad as others, but sometimes they can get pretty loud and quite annoying. The noises do not seem to be worse or better depending on speed - as long as the vehicle is moving they are happening.

Anyone else having these issues? Have you consulted a dealership? Have you been able to have the issue resolved? Has GM come out with a service bulletin regarding this issue?

Any info you guys may have would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same issue. I took it to my dealership and it took them 5 1/2 hours to fix the problem. Apparently there was something loose in the track, i'm no expert, so I left it at that. So the noise is gone, for now....

Just brought home my new GT with panoramic roof and the noise above my head is brutal. In some ways it sounds like rain hitting the roof - and since it was raining yesterday when I picked up the car maybe I didn't notice. But today it is loud...always there...at any speed.

Has anyone had the problem diagnosed by the dealer? Or does anyone have a panoramic roof without this problem?

Well I have narrowed it down since I originally posted...

Directly above the driver's head, I hear a tapping noise. Sounds like somebody tapping on glass. This appears to be happening worse at high speeds, but can be heard at lower speeds as well.

From the roof of the vehicle, and seemingly from the back of the sunroof, I hear a rattle or a popping. This seems to happen worse at lower speeds, and especially when going over bumps.

I have not taken my vehicle into the dealer yet to try to have the issue resolved. Haven't had the time. I plan on doing it as soon as the end of this week. If I find out anything, I will let you guys know.

first they claimed the sound wasn't there. Then they said they heard it and lubricated the sunroof tracks and it was gone. Needless to say it is still there and annoying as ever. The outside temp seems to make a difference. I'm calling the dealer back today and will update as news warrants.

Dealer took down headliner...packed in some sound insulation and the problem is fixed. Now I can finally enjoy the car...they should sell more of these...have not seen one on the road yet.

Ive hade my G6 for about 2 weeks now and I also have that noise. I can tell you that banging on the roof with your fist doesnt fix the problem. I guess i will have to let the dealer look at it.
