: What gas mileage are you getting?
05G6GTstanger 03-28-2005, 08:40 PM Im just about through my first tank, and I only got about 17 MPG with some highway and soem city, not getting on it at all....
What kind of mileage are you getting and how many miles are on your car, i think mine just needs to be broken in, im only at 150 miles....
Hambone 03-29-2005, 04:47 AM We just went over 1,000 miles. 16 miles one way to work, mostly highway. Getting over 27 MPG. Display shows 28.1 MPG.
mgsooner 03-29-2005, 11:33 AM My g6 is currently at 1100 miles but I reset my fuel econ meter at 800. For that first 800, my meter read somewhere between 22-23 mpg. The vast majority of that was in town driving with speeds 35 mph and lower. I reset the meter at 800 miles because I was going on a 150 mile trip of highway driving and wanted to see what I would get on the hwy. For that trip the meter read just below 32 mpg.
Fusion 03-29-2005, 12:53 PM Mine varies all the time, it's been all the way up to 25 and all the way down to 19.8 which is what it's at right now.
bigbengt67 03-29-2005, 04:38 PM I average about 19 in the city. On my 200+ mile highway treks I have gotten about 33 every time. These are according to the computer. I would say the actual values are somewhat lower. Over all I'm pleased with the fuel mileage, it is improved over my Grand Am GT.
TheMonk 03-29-2005, 04:52 PM 2000 miles. Gets around 25 - 26mpg with mixed city/highway driving...I am enjoying this car
S8ER99 03-29-2005, 05:02 PM 5500 miles... 17 mixed highway/town driving..
Anyone notice the gas gauge is kinda strange when you are driving hard? Like its 'estimating' your fuel level?
05G6GTstanger 03-29-2005, 10:26 PM Yea, when im Driving the gas gauge is always lower than when i put it in park, it really shifts around a lot, I think the fuel sensors arent too great.
Hambone 03-30-2005, 05:06 AM GM's have always had a "floating" fuel gauge.
Fusion 03-30-2005, 10:19 AM if i drive like a grandpa my fuel gauge will read pretty accurate but as soon as i slam the pedal down the gas guage will drop a couple miles.
S8ER99 03-30-2005, 07:25 PM Im used to floating gauges (my Z would slam you around in the seat and easily exert ~1G when pressed, parking on a hill, stopping hard, etc.. I know how it is 'normally').. this is much different. Its almost like its 'estimating' how much fuel you have??? Hard to explain.
Daniel 03-31-2005, 10:34 AM get 20.8mpg over 2200 miles
ironmike 04-08-2005, 10:05 AM I noticed that to...any sharp turns and abrupt stops my fuel gauge is all over the place. BY the way im geting 18mpg mostly city driving.. alot better then the 9mpg in my suv
metlmangreg 05-30-2008, 07:57 PM I'm getting 27.5 around town and 23 miles to work and back, but on trips, average 32.5
ashienw 06-03-2008, 04:21 PM I have 47k on my car- I get around 18 in town. We took a road trip from Kansas to Indiana and it went up to 29mpg
geewhiz 06-04-2008, 09:23 AM This GA SE gets low MPG. Why?
BudmanTom 06-04-2008, 09:43 AM I have an 06 G6 GTP sedan with the 3.9 Auto.
I'm getting 23 in town and 27-28 on the highway and that's according to the computer(I drive like an old woman).
ashienw 06-04-2008, 09:51 AM then maybe i need to start driving like an old woman.... i could really use the extra money saved from getting more mpg- lol

motor75 06-05-2008, 12:14 PM 1,800 miles on my 08 GXP - I get about 29 hwy; 21 city. I average about 23 with mostly city driving.
mikeg6 06-16-2008, 07:02 PM I have the exact same car as the original poster - a 2005 G6 GT - and I have consistently gotten 21 mpg in a mixture of city and highway driving. Could be better, but I suppose it could also be worse.
g6_convertible 07-03-2008, 05:31 PM I have a new 2008 G6 convertible (love the car!) with the 3.9 HO. I have 520 miles on it, and I'm getting 19 MPG in town - I'm ecstatic about 19 MPG because the sticker said 15 MPG in town.
While I don't really hot rod the car, I don't drive like a grandma either (I do drive conservative, though, most of the time).
When you folks post your MPG, please try to include engine size, so we can make better comparisons.
Thanks, and have a great 4th!!
geewhiz 07-03-2008, 06:38 PM 30-34 MPG Hwy, 3.5 ltr Sedan.
Gunia 07-04-2008, 07:31 PM I got as high as 35.7 mpg on the highway today at about 65-70 mph, 3.5L V6 (18k miles) Sedan.
I filled up the tank, reset the mpg on the radio display and hit the highway without any stops. After about 25 miles I was still getting a steady 35.7. I'll be driving down to PA tomorrow (mixed city/highway and hills), I'll post what I get.
g6_convertible 07-05-2008, 03:01 PM WOW! 35.7 for a 3.5 by GUNIA is awesome. I drove about 25 straight highway miles after a fill up today, and got 25 MPG from my 3.9.
BTW, I have the 4 speed auto. I would assume that the 6 speed auto would do even better, but GM decided not to do that to keep the price of the convertible as something we common folks could afford.
Gunia 07-06-2008, 06:06 AM Ok came back from my little trip. Total miles 342.5. The radio display reads 30.1 mpg. I calculated 28.1 mpg. There is a little discrepancy, could be the method I use, but even a worst case average of 28 mpg is great.
The trip was about 70% highway (60-70 mph), 30% local (30-45 mph, lots of traffic lights, hills, no bumper to bumper traffic).
I was also using a fuel system cleaner during this trip, but I doubt that had an effect on the mpg.
I didn't check the tire pressure, but I usually have it at 33-34 psi. Engine oil and air filter was changed recently.
Gunia 07-06-2008, 06:13 AM WOW! 35.7 for a 3.5 by GUNIA is awesome. I drove about 25 straight highway miles after a fill up today, and got 25 MPG from my 3.9.
I still get 28 mpg with mostly highway driving in my Impala (3.8L V6). I did get an average as high as 32 mpg. The 3.9 obviously has more power, but might also have more aggressive gearing. Also if you have larger rims, that adds additional weight to rotate...not to mention the additional weight of the convertible.
mitchogaard 07-08-2008, 10:46 AM I drive like a freakin' idiot and I get 25-26.5
I have a 2006 3500
mikeg6 07-10-2008, 08:46 AM I have a 2005 G6 GT with the 3.5 liter V6 and I recently got 35 mpg on a highway roadtrip. That's the best mileage I've ever gotten in this car, it has 40k miles on it, and I was pretty happy with that. It was mostly flat high desert straightaways with some rolling hills and small mountains every once in a while.
In city driving I usually get 21 mpg on the dot. Which is not so great, but certainly could be worse.
For a v6, I'm pretty happy with it and any money I spent on a hybrid would not make a large enough difference to cover the initial cost of the new car. I had been thinking of upgrading to a Prius but I will probably drive this car into the ground and then buy a small electric or hybrid in 2012 when Toyota and Honda come out with their latest hybrid technologies.
There have been a number of electrical gremlins with the G6, and the dealer experience has not been positive. Which is why I will probably get a Honda next.
geewhiz 07-10-2008, 11:21 AM There have been a number of electrical gremlins with the G6, and the dealer experience has not been positive. Which is why I will probably get a Honda next.
Had I not joined this forum I may have never heard these troubles you and others are having. I owned 2 Pontiacs before the G6 and have had great expereinces with them both. Now, with the G6 I am still in favor of Pontiacs cars. Maybe I'm just getting lucky. (?) Sure, there are some small issues that pop up but nothing a little TLC won't cure.
With that being said you need to know I also own a Mazda and it has its share of "little issues" too.
Good Luck!
edwardsdalejr 09-10-2008, 01:45 PM About 19 -20 for city and almost 35 highway or interstate driving. I currently have 73k on my car.
a1606myrsclm 09-17-2008, 09:58 AM I have a 07 with a 4 cyl and I get right around 28-33 mpg. I drive 70+ miles a day with some city driving thrown in. I have 21,000 miles on the car. I backed off the gas from 70 mph on the highway to 60 and the gas mileage jumped from 23.5- 25 mpg to that 30 mpg. It takes an extra 5 mins. to get to work in the morning but its worth it for the extra 6-7 mpg. I was filling up about every 4 days. If I do just highway miles I can get 33 mpg. would have never believed it made that big a difference.
06SilverG6GTP 09-23-2008, 07:55 AM I calculate the gas mileage myself because I find the computer to be a little off. I have an 06 GTP (3.9L V6) and the best i've got so far was 24MPG mainly hwy driving on a 240 mi trip. On average I only get about 19MPG with city and hwy combined.. not too impressed.

KB G6 11-07-2008, 05:44 AM 30.2 mostly highway, a little stop and go on the daily commute this week. I drive 55-70 depending on the flow of traffic. On my road trips to PA I usually average about 32.7.
I have an '05 G6 GT with approximately 28,000 miles on it (bought it used a few months ago with only 19,000 on it).

Holtguy 11-10-2008, 07:49 AM I have an '08 4-cyl, with about 8500 miles on it. I get about 21-21.5 mph with mostly city driving. On the highway, normally it's 28-32. I always thought the city mileage was a little low for a 4-cyl.
Lampoon 11-10-2008, 08:38 AM I always thought the city mileage was a little low for a 4-cyl.
I think that is due to the weight of the car. Personally I feel a 6 cyl should be standard. My 6 with an LX9 gets better gas milage than the 2.4 so why
would you want to put a 4 in a G6. I dont understand it.
mcdonaldland 11-12-2008, 06:11 AM I am getting 21 in the City, 30 on the Hwy. In combo driving - about 23.5 (a lot of stop and go).

markpetersonii 02-11-2009, 12:11 PM I have a 2007 V6 Sedan and I have almost 55,000 miles on it. I am getting about 19-20 mpg. AND I drive like a madman in California!
So far this year, 11.6KM/100L or 20MPG combined, about 65% highway. That's tracked by fuel usage which is always worse than the average on the DIC.
Beodude123 02-22-2009, 03:16 PM I've been getting about 26 average, at least that's what the display says. Mixed driving, but I'd say about 75% highway.
CRAIGZ24 05-07-2009, 07:58 PM there is a differnce between imperial and us gallons for canada, so anyone in canada has to convert to us gallons from litres, imperial mpg is usually 6-8 mpg more, which is what we go by, so example my 02 sunfire would do 41 us mpg but 48 imperial mpg.

You have to realize that they measure MPG on a flat road. Put that same Chevy 350 up that same road and you'd probably be making 4 MPG. I get about 15 MPG going up big hills but going down the other side of the hills kinda even it out.
MstangsBware 06-26-2009, 03:37 PM Pushing 28.5 miles to the gallon over the last month or so. This is with mostly highway driving. Before all the highway driving I was seeing around 24 MPG. THe best I have ever gotten was 34 MPG on a trip back from Cali.

08g6pa 01-15-2010, 03:05 PM Hello all,
I am getting about 17 mpg around town with the 2.4 four. I am fairly easy on it (coasting up to lights and stop signs when I can, easy starts, etc.) and I live in an area with a lot of hills. I still think 17 mpg is a bit low. Any ideas or is that about all I can expect? Our 06 Accord returned about 19-20 mpg under the same conditions, although it was a 5 spd automatic. Car is stock with 13500 miles.
Thanks.
gapotts 01-20-2010, 05:18 PM The V6 should get 17 MPG city not the V4 You should be getting 22. It's a little low. Make sure your tires are above 30 psi when cold. Obviously the hills are going to lower your MPG but not much you can do about that.
The Accord is rated at 21. So if that's the case you should be getting better than the 19 you got with your Accord.
hndah8r 01-20-2010, 07:25 PM Im getting approximately 31mpg highway and 24mpg city. Most of my driving is on the highway anyway. :D
fbg6coupe 04-05-2010, 04:26 PM Of course it depends on traffic and incline.
I can average around 32-34mpg on the highway, when it's flat.
In the city, average 22. This obviously fluctuates drastically based on traffic. I'm overall satisfied. I have over 41k on the 2006 GT Coupe, and I am still getting sticker or better mpg.
Darin.Overturf 04-05-2010, 08:46 PM Just got back from a road trip - San Diego to San Fransisco round trip. I haven't reset my average MPG in a while and its reading 28 now. it was reading about 19 before. My average comute is about 10 minutes, mostly city.

spdfrk 07-05-2010, 08:51 PM I usually get at least 24mpg city and as high as 43mpg hwy with the lx9 v6. Using all amsoil 5/30 100% synthetic and the low viscosity atf from them as well. I also have high flow intake, headers, catback, and an oil catch can off the pcv line. DO NOT RUN ETHANOL BLENDED FUELS IF YOU WANT MILEAGE (lower BTU output = crappy gas mileage and poor performance). BTW, I'm up in Canada and I know you guys are big on your corn alcohol.

gxp owner 08-18-2010, 08:05 PM I finally took my 09 gxp on a trip. On the way up to Maine almost 600 miles I averaged 29.8 mpg at an average speed of 65 mph. On the way home I averaged 29.2, forgot to look at average speed but I had heavy rain for about 3 hours. I can't complain as this is about the same or even a little better than my 00 GAGT i had previously.
steveo32 08-22-2010, 12:48 AM I have the 3.5l v6, went 420 miles on the first tank which averages out to 26.25 mpg. the computer estimated my mpg at 29.6 with avg speed of 36 mph. I think the computer estimates more on how you are driving, meaning how fast you accelerate. I also used Ethos FR, and no im not endorsing or soilicitating the product. I will run the next tank without to see how the numbers compare.

@ 80mph was 29mpg
@ 70mph was 31mpg.
@ 60mph was 32mpg.
not bad for a GT V6.
MattInSoCal 10-19-2010, 01:29 AM I got 33.6 with my 2009 GT on a 62 mile trip through an area with some mild (and not so mild) hills to climb. I tried the same route at 67 and got 33.4 which makes me think the sweet spot for mileage in my car might be around 64 or 65. Running the same route at 80 yields 28.6...
With my typical city driving, I'm sitting at 17.5 if I keep my foot out of it and 15.8 if I have some fun.
I have an app to track my mileage since I bought the car. So far, 9,476 miles with 514.99 gallons burned since late December with an average of 18.91 MPG. I drive about 20% on the highway. Suck, as much fun as the G6 has been I really do wish I had bought that TDI.

StLouisDave 03-09-2011, 04:09 PM I drive about 60 miles one way into work on the highway, cruise set at 60 the entire time and I'm getting just under 29 (dash says 28.8)
xDayan 03-11-2011, 05:28 PM 15-18MPG City, 29-34 MPG highway
I'm kinda a lead foot (2 speeding tickets with in a year over 100 on my bike *crys*) if I drive like I do with my sister in the car with her kid, I get like 24 in town. TC Really kills my Mileage It won't shift till like 6k rpms when sliding ~_~ I guess thats what I get for living in alaska, and not buying winter tires... Oh and theres wayyy to many hills to count here lol
VanBillSing 04-19-2011, 06:44 AM 07 G6V6 - I'm getting 23.3 on mine at the moment. The car has 98,000 miles on it so far. Knock on wood - the only issues I've had with it so far is the famous 'intermediate steering shaft', bad windshield wiper transmission, driver side wheel bearing and normal brake replacement. Passenger side wheel bearing is just starting to go. I'll have to replace that this weekend I think.
RedRocket 04-20-2011, 12:41 AM Between 16-25 mpg in the city (yes huge variance, but driving in the Bay Area and Chico is very different)
30-35.5 mpg at 55-65 mph. 26-31 mpg at 70-75 mph.
gface2k 04-24-2011, 12:00 PM Wow you guys drive like old ladies :D
I really have to try had to get above 20MPG.
After Crabs it went down hill, not a bad thing I just drive like i'm a maniac.
killjoydod 05-03-2011, 09:47 PM First a little background on me:
My first car was a 05 Doge Neon because of the price of the car Vs. the gas mileage.
I did my research and knew that it only had 132hp but I didn't think it would bother me. Long story short; IT DID!!!
That's when I recently got my current G6 GT. I said to myself: "Screw the gas mileage!!! I WANT POWER!!!!!(that I can afford)"
When I got the car, the MPG said 25 but now, after about 250Mi of my driving it says 14 MPG. It's a GM certified vehicle so I doubt there's anything mechanically wrong with it, plus it runs very quiet and smooth.
I love my G6 GT especially because of the suspension and tires!! That 219HP ain't bad either!! XD
killjoydod 05-06-2011, 08:12 PM I just noticed that I can reset my average gas mileage counter!!
After a week of my driving I'll say what my (100% me) average MPGs are. Stay tuned in!!! XD
chris4031 05-07-2011, 08:34 AM I only get 14...lol hmmm:D
coupe_gtp 05-07-2011, 10:55 AM I average 26 in the g6, 30 in the 325.
killjoydod 05-09-2011, 09:35 PM I only get 14...lol hmmm:D
Heeey!!! That looks like a G8 in the pic under your name!! CHEATER!!! LOLOLOL!!! XD
So far after 50 mi. my AVG MPG says 14 also!! It's 98% city driving for me.
chris4031 05-09-2011, 10:33 PM Heeey!!! That looks like a G8 in the pic under your name!! CHEATER!!! LOLOLOL!!! XD

lol i wish i had a G8!:D buuut my gxp in the pic is definitely good enough for me. I do all city driving also so that probably doesnt help my amazing milage...
08G6GXPAT 05-10-2011, 06:13 PM When I drive the car I get around 24.5 and when my fiance' drives she gets about 26 haha!

I have a 46 mile drive to work, 5 days a week. Drive is a mix of city/highway. Lots of stops and curves. I average around 25-26 MPG.

After one week of my driving, I went 106 miles and my (100% me) Avrage MPG is: 14.0!!!
I still rather have the power than the better gas mileage!! I love my G6 GT!!!!!
killjoydod 05-20-2011, 01:57 PM Another week has gone by and my MPG Avrage is steady at 13.6!!! Still loving my G6 GT!!!
PHXSEO 09-02-2011, 07:28 AM I get a whopping 20MPG, I do 90% city so it's not horrible, but for a 2010 car I would expect more.
My nissan sentra with a 1.6L gets almost 30 in the city.
jts08g6 09-02-2011, 08:42 AM Hwy I get 30-33 if I stay steady. City I get about 18-20
Jocelyn
Firedown 09-03-2011, 10:30 PM Pulled 33.6 average over 180 miles almost all highway. Did go through some slow construction zones.
deathmage 10-04-2011, 10:32 AM I'm curious how you guys are getting 30 mph. My 2008 Pontiac G6 V6 barely even gets 24.5 and that's babying my car. My car is stock.
What are you guys doing that is making your mileage go up so much higher?

I also have an all stock 2008 v6. I pulled 34 avg coming home from greenbay wisconsin (i live in stl) I did 80 90% of the way home... So not sure, sorry

Nothing. I'm going by the computer not actual mpg calculations. Reset the meter before you leave and check it when you arrive. When you're pulling an avg speed of 70-80 30 mpg is easy.
deathmage 10-05-2011, 10:01 AM how do I reset my mpg meter?
It says like 24.6 .... and I'm normally doing like 70 on I-84. I drive about 55 miles a day each way to work. Its a easy 45 minute drive.
Firedown 10-05-2011, 10:14 AM Hold the enter button down on the mpg screen and it resets.
reverttheclown 10-05-2011, 10:42 AM 24-25 mpg is good in a city/highway mix
penelopeTHEg6 10-05-2011, 10:51 AM normally run 18 mpg through town. making my trips back and forth from my ol' lady's house to mine is all highway and i normally pull 28-34. it varies a lot definitely with traffic, and if wind is really bad to
deathmage 10-05-2011, 11:11 AM I'm also wondering if a performance exhaust and a CAI also is another determining factor as to why some of you guys get such good gas mileage. The restrictive stock airbox and restrictive stock exhaust must not help for mileage.
deathmage 10-05-2011, 01:32 PM So I reset the mpg meter. and I'm now averaging about 33.9 on the highway doing 70 with cruise. It is a brand-new engine, not even 1000 miles on it yet. so maybe that helps.
Would a CAI and a GM Performance exhaust, the cat-back one, help even more with mileage?
penelopeTHEg6 10-05-2011, 06:05 PM cai intake is only going to get you an extra 1 or 2 mpg.. its pretty much the same for the exhaust. if your lucky you could gain maybe 5 or 6 mpg all together
edit: the cai is going to help the engine breathe better tho.. cooler air is always better for the engine
Dmanj 10-06-2011, 09:39 AM I get around 29mpg doing mostly city driving. Maybe 10km a week on the highway
Skylineflames6 12-08-2011, 11:50 PM 2008 gxp- About 19 city and for some reason i get about 32 highway. Not that i mind it :D
stilover01 12-19-2011, 08:15 PM We drive a lot in town and only get 17 ish... But we have been goin on the mass pike a lot and judt got up to 21... 3.5 with 53000 on a 06... What you think tune up?
nihadkeso 12-31-2011, 08:19 PM those who say there getting 27 mpgs are full of shit.... city u should get 18-20 highway 23-26... thats what a g6 gets.
Dmanj 12-31-2011, 09:53 PM Says who? Are you saying I'm full of shit? 27mpg is not very difficult to obtain in this car.
Lampoon 01-01-2012, 03:59 AM I get 28 easy & routinely and Im 85% highway. It all depends on which engine you have and how hard you mash the peddle. I average 400 miles to the tank.

I have the 3.5 and I get 18-23 city and last trip to green bay WI (I live near St louis) I got 33 mpg all hwy doing 80 all the way. Steady mix, I get about 26 mpg.
Depends on how you drive.

The G6 is rated for 22 city and 30 hwy. I have a GTP with the 3.9 that is rated for the worst fuel efficiency and I can do that and better with my mods! It is mostly in the driver, but quality of fuel, tires, weather conditions, and several other things can also factor into the mpgs. So if you are not able to get your G6 to obtain these numbers you need to consider your driving style.
Farmerdancow 03-04-2012, 06:43 PM I have an 07 G6 GT 3.5, 52,000 miles. I drive 100 miles a day mostly country roads average 55 mph. It's saying around 21  We'll see what it does when I drive to and from work tomorrow, it better improve to at least what I had or I'm going to be ticked...

Give it a few days, or manually calculate it. Sometimes the computer is not always super accurate.

I also have the K&N but I did get a lil better gas milage when installed, But the shitty heatshield is robbing you too. When I went with the Crabs heatshield my gas milage went up again.

AllanR 03-15-2012, 12:49 PM Im just about through my first tank, and I only got about 17 MPG with some highway and soem city, not getting on it at all....
What kind of mileage are you getting and how many miles are on your car, i think mine just needs to be broken in, im only at 150 miles....
I get between 29 and 32 MPG on the freeways driving 60-75 MPH. I have a 2007 G6 4-cylinder.
TruePyro 03-25-2012, 08:19 AM My g6 is currently at 1100 miles but I reset my fuel econ meter at 800.
Sorry if I sound stupid for not knowing how, but How did you reset your fuel econ meter?
Also just hit 100,000 miles getting 24 mixed right now. Just cleaned the throttle body a little and already brought my mpg up one mpg. I'm going to fully clean it somtime this week, to increase mpg, and also adding a K&K air filter so I'll let everyone know what the results are.

Scroll to where it says that on the screen, then hold the "Enter" button until it goes to zero. When it says zero, it is reset.

An update on my mpg. The computer is ranging from 30.8 - 31.2 when I drive/how long I drive. I can get about 380 miles on a tank. So needless to say I'm happy with it :)
Taskona 04-04-2012, 07:54 AM 27.5 in the warmer temps (65 and up) and as low as 23-24.2 in winter! 95+K miles :D
CruisinG6 04-11-2012, 02:41 PM getting between 25 and 27 mpg right now. But I feel I have to mention that I'm not exactly driving it like a grandma. I don't speed much or drive too recklessly but I do accelerate quickly a lot and I do drive fast when the moment shows itself. :D
On another note I did spend one night racing with a bunch of people, Burned through a quarter tank, (from full to 3/4) When I topped it off I worked out I was averaging about 38 MPG. I was astonished because I burned pretty much that whole quarter tank while driving at WOT. haha
jts08g6 04-12-2012, 08:15 AM 2836
When I filled up from half tank the other day. It was a good even mix of highway/city miles. And I am quick to accelerate, cruise 80 on the interstate, jump on it to pass. Long story short, not a grandma driver.

CruisinG6 04-12-2012, 02:12 PM 1 more mph and 5 more mpg. Proof that putting a smaller engine doesn't always yield better MPG
Unless I'm just thrashing my car more than I should be. haha
Dmanj 04-12-2012, 02:57 PM The size of the vehicle has alot to do with it aswell. Take a look at the mileage on any full size truck, the NA V6 version always has worse mileage than the NA V8 versions. Small engines have to work harder in bigger vehicles. As well, gearing and tire tread have a big impact.

well we are taking a long trip so I'll be sure to post everything when we reach the gas station. I reset everything every fill up (mpg, trip mileage, and average speed) maybe that's where the difference is? Even though I'm not sure it would matter.
And I completely agree with dmanj.

Exactly! I think the G6 shouldn't have been offered with a 4cyl. But any 6cyl yes. It definitely needs more power (esp torque) to make proper use of the trans and to have enough power to get around comfortably, and therefore be efficient. Plus I have grippier tires which I'm sure brought it all down a bit. Hopefully once I build the motor a bit I'll see more MPG's. but it all depends on the way I tune I suppose. That's the trade-off I guess. Lots of power and fun, Or mpg. haha

I do the same, Every time I buy gas I always get a full tank, and I always clear every field in the INFO display. And I also divide my miles by how many gallons I buy. The math always works out differently than what my stereo says for Average MPG. And it's ALWAYS either +/- No consistency. But they're always close. Usually anywhere from 0.2-2.0 +/- mpg
AllanR 04-14-2012, 07:03 AM 2007 4-cyl G6 with 60K miles. Just drove from Atlanta to Ocala, FL and got 32.9 MPG using the "old fashioned" arithmetic: divide miles driven by gallons registered on the gas pump. I'm lovin' this little car.
