hey anyone get mats free with car?
i know there is the rubber mats for dirt and rain.

Just the carpet ones.

I also have the carpet ones.

My purchase package included the carpeted mats. What's this about "free"? :confused:

when i got my car the base 2005 it had no mats in the front or back and no cargo nets.
So my dad said when we where buying it he wanted mats and the nets and everything else looks good.
so I got free carpet mats

he didnt buy me the car he just went with, just in case some one is gonna give me a hard time.

My "standard" V6 had no mats, but the plain jane hubcap model next to mine did. One question to the salesman, AFTER the deal was done, and I suddenly I had mats and the other one didn't :)

$5 later, after a stop at Wal-Mart, I had the clear rubber ones on top of those.

Mine came with regular black carpeted mats for both front and rear. There's usually a nice set on ebay that say "G6" on them for around $70.

That's not a bad idea for future preservation... my father-in-law did that for his '87 Cadillac. You'd never know the rear mats or trunk mat was ever put into use in the car at time of resale. That's using the ol' noggin!!! ;)

My salesman stole some out of another car for me. They are carpet.

I have the all weather G6 mats from the gm website, they're amazing. I only got the front two, b/c no one really ever rides in my backseat.. i think they were like $44.. definitely worth buying.. and they say Pontiac G6 on them..

Mine came with mats with G6 on them, but they weren't free.

Mine came with mats, but they don't say G6 on them. They were in the backseat in plastic when I test drove it and they put them in when I took delivery. G6 / Pontiac logoed ones would look cool though.

mine came with the carpet mat set, no G6 logo. but for winter, i went to Wal-Mart and bought 4 winter 'slush' mats and put over the carpet ones. keeps all the melted snow and stuff off the floor.

My car came with the standard carpet mats but I also ordered the vinyl mats from a dealership... best purchase I've made for the car. They fit perfectly.

I had to have the mats with the embossed "G6" on them that cost me $160 from GM. :o

I just ordered a pair of all weather custom fit rubber floor mats for the car. Cost me $69 at the dealership but i'm sure they'll be worth it

I just have the carpet mats that came with the car, they still look good after 2 and a half years.

We bought the car w/o factory mats. The dealship threw in some "Wolly world" mats. They suck big time. I plan to purchase real factory carpet mats as soon as I get loan approval(k/j). Thoses thing aren't cheap!

im getting some black ones with red letters "G6" on them :) SOON! i want them so bad my car looks like a somewhat photo lab inside

Same old thing here as well, came with black carpet ones, now to 3M Scotch Guard them....... and everything else, don't want stains on the windows... bad joke

I have had the same matts since i first posted this thread LOL and there are destroyed only the driver cause i always have my heel pivitting and it shredded it so now i want to find a good quality rubber one maybe?\

The red would look good i have all red led inside also the one in my dome is like 30 like chips looking ones so bright.

I didn't notice that mine was lacking mats until after I'd signed off on the paperwork, so I ended up getting a set from Autozone. I paid about $15 for them and they look OK, but the driver side mat would not stay in place and slid around a lot. then I cut a hole in it and used the "positive location" floor mat holder thing on the carpet to keep it in place, now it works better, but I still doubt that they will hold up for more than a year, when these ones die I'm considering getting some WeatherTech mats.

Anybody out there have Weather Tech Floor mats?

The place who I got the car from threw in some generic mats that fit pretty damn well...Problem is is that there wasn't a hole where the mats could clip into the driver's side floor. So I made a new modification with my knife and created a hole for it, so now the damn thing doesn't slide around:D

Hi there I'm new here. I bought my 08 G6 GXP about 2 months ago. I got the dealership to agree to floor mates for my car when i bought it. I have been fighting with them on where are they at. They give me the excuases of they sent the wrong one, then they must be back ordered. But finally i got a phone call saying the got them. Now I wana make sure they are factory mats and not some cheap auto parts store special. Did anyone buy a GXP that came with mats, and what did they look like. Carpet with maybe "G6" or "GXP" on them. Any input would be great. Or maybe a website i can go to, to see what belongs in it. Thanks!

Mine came with no mats so i bought the premium black mats with the red borders and the G6 and dart logos. they look sweet.

I got two front Lloyd Velourtex mats (http://www.carid.com/lloyd-velourtex-floor-mats/) from carid for $68 with a discount prior to Christmas with the added G6 embroidery. They are pretty nice and seem like a better material than the original driver's side mat I had despite these mats being the "value" Lloyd mats. There are also better quality mats available from them. (I bought them because my car came with no passenger mat).

Without embroidery they are $54.90 for the two front ones or $74.90 for the four and free shipping. I think there might be some discounts floating around somewhere. You have the option of the dart or G6 embroidery and can choose from a lot of colors of the mat itself and the G6 embroidery. The embroidery is an extra $25 per two mats embroidered so it is $50 if you want all four.

The mats with the G6 logo are not free. When I replaced my mats I bought them from the dealer. They are nice. They feel thicker than the originals. But the BLACK is darker than the ones that come with the car which I guess were "graphite". But I ended up liking the darker mats even more.

I also did not get an owner's manual, OnStar guide, or the cargo nets, and there was only one key and no remote fobs. The owner's manual is available online as a free download, OnStar is only too happy to send you the whole package by mail, and a few buys spent on eBay solved the net problem. The dealer gave me a second key and two brand new fobs for free (they made enough profit off me) and I got them programmed free at another dealer closer to home. But I have yet to acquire floor mats or decide which ones I want to buy. I'm liking the looks of those custom-embroidered mats.

a little off subject, but i cant find ANYWHERE black floor mats (all 4) with G6 GT in red only ever just G6, i have a GT and i am pround of it, anyone know someone that could make some?

I was just googling it & I can only find floor mats with the G6 as well. I'm not sure if this idea would work, but I know there are some advanced sewing machines (if you know anyone who has one) that will sew in words, or in this case just a few letters into fabrics. I am not sure if that would work for a floor mat though, probably not because of the rubber bottoms, but its an idea. Its an idea, if your willing to give it a try.

Mine had NONE and I bought two after market ones and using a Dremel tool I shaved out an area just large enough for the logo which I embroidered and used epoxy to adhere the embroidered patch in the space.
I LOVED then so much and so many comments have been made about them by others I did a second pair. I keep the second pair for special occasions and the first ones I use for everyday use.

I finally got some photos of my mats. They need to be vacuumed but I think you can see the embroidery pretty good.
I was not about to pay the price I was seeing for embroidered floor mats when I can digitize the logo I want and stitch it my self. Each set cost me around $30.00 for the mats and $2.00 for the thread!
I wanted the logo with the star in the center but wanted to include the G6 as well so I made the image in photoshop then used the embroidery machine software to turn the image into stitches.(digitizing software) Once I stitched it out on the same type of netting we make bridal veils out of I used a Dremel rotary tool to carve the carpet fiber out in the same shape as the finished embroidered patch. I used a silicone adhesive to attach the patch in the shaved area and they look as good if not better then the floor mat set I saw for $120.00!

I am feeling pretty good about my work on my floor mats, thanks guys. I did my head rests already. Look a few posts above the photos of the mats for a shot of the logo plus Betty Boop. I put Betty on my head rest and just the logo with G6 in it like the floor mats on the passenger side.
Thanks for the thought on the head rests and if you have any other ideas for embellishing the car with embroidery let me know.

Well you all seemed to like the embroidery so I thought I would share something else I made for my car, sort of.
I found a company that does not make you buy thousands of yards of fabric to get your own fabric printed. your photo or art and the ability to set the size and background color and then in the mail comes your photo or art on the type of fabric you want. Could be cotton or a knit or canvas and there are other choices as well. You can get an 8x8 swatch to make sure you like it for 5 bucks! You can order less then a yard on up to what ever you may need.
Go to http://www.spoonflower.com and check it out! Think YOUR car on fabric! OOOOOOOOOOhhhhh the possibilities for ties shirts bags and on and on heck if your obsessed like some of us....sheets! LOL
I had canvas printed like this for my tote bag that I carry at car shows. I would make hundreds if I had bags with this and all the others makes for sale at these things let me tell ya.

I used several photos of the car to have yardage printed to make my husband a shirt to wear at the car shows. The shirt is almost done and he will probably wear it until there is nothing left of it. He is obsessed with his car and I know none of us on this site would understand being obsessed with a car right?
