: Ruber valve stems with TPMS (tire sensors)

I am aware that all 2008 vehicles have some form of tire pressure monitoring system.I have always seen vehicles with TPMS have a metal threaded valve stem like on my 2008 Cobalt SS/TC.

However my girlfriend just bought a 2008 G6. The valve stems are rubber yet it is equipped with TPMS. I want to transfer those sensorS from the 17" steel wheels to an 17" aluminum wheel. Are the rubber valve stems transferable? How are they atached to the sensors because 5-6 years down the road the rubber valve stems will be brittle and will crack etc. The metal ones have rebuild kits that you can put new crommets/rubber on so it will seal well.

I read that thread but it didn't answer the question that I was asking here.
Thanks for trying though.

I made a similar thread on a cobalt website and they filled me in. (larger forum). Size matters lol
