I purchased my 06 G6 on Saturday. The dealer told me that the remote had just been lost and I could just purchase one. NO problem. Well, I called Monday morning and gave my VIN to the Pont parts dept. Apparently my car was not equipped with keyless entry/remote start. I wanted to have an after market one installed. Has anyone had one installed? Can anyone recommend one?

I don't know for sure but that sounds bogus. Anyone here on this site with a 2006 G6 with out remote entry?

Yea, that's what I thought too. I've heard/read of the 06's without remote starters, but not without keyless entry (door locks/trunk). I would be happy with that for the time being.

i got an 06 g6 with the keyless entry, but i don't think i have the eligibility of having the remote start...

also like to add that my g6 is a 4cyler. pretty much a base sedan..

If it doesnt have the module then your pretty much screwed.
Aftermarket Ive only heard of one guy getting it done and he had problems with it.

The dealer can check by vin number...

Columbus car audio told me they have put many remote starts in G6s. as long as it has power locks you can get keyless entry with remote start no problem!
