has anyone ever raced or auto-xed a 6speed GTP or GXP?

There was one group that did something with a Gxp.
I think they're called "GM".

I'm wondering if anyone has auto-xed or tracked there G6 on the stock 6 speed trannys and if you can down shift into corners ok, not if you could turn it into a competition GT race car.

I auto-x my legacy 4speed auto and its basically 1st or 2nd gear it doesn't take very good advantage of the power. Also iv taken a 5 speed but I was wondering how the GTP or GXP would go with there 6 speed close-ratio trannys...but maybe nobody here auto-x's i was just asking

2. The 6 speed auto is a Hydra-Matic 6T70.
It can handle:
•Torque capacity to 280 lb.-ft.
•Shift speeds up to 7000 rpm
•Up to 315 horsepower
•Overall ratio: 6.04:1

I think, so long as you're not being a complete goof about it (ie. downshifting from 4th at 5500rpm into second) you won't experience the tranny giving you the royal "F*&% YOU!".
I'd personally be more concerned about the engine health.
That being said, if you're so terribly concerned about it... perhaps look into having the transmission rebuilt in such a manner that won't be so fragile?
