I witnessed another motorist running off of the road this morning because they do not know how to merge.

(The world according to Mike)

“Merge”, –verb (used with object)
1. to cause to combine or coalesce; unite.
2. to combine, blend, or unite gradually so as to blur the individuality or individual identity of:

“Disrupt”,
verb (used with object)
1. to cause disorder or turmoil in: The news disrupted their conference.
2. to destroy, usually temporarily, the normal continuance or unity of; interrupt: Telephone service was disrupted for hours.
3. to break apart: to disrupt a connection.

How life would be so much easier if everyone would use the "zipper" method. Let one car in, then go.

I can't recall how many times some self-important a-hole would either a) be an ass and not let anyone in, or b) try to get 2 people in at a time.

And they wonder why traffic is always backed up when there is a merge ahead.

I can't stand people that try to get on the highway (merge) at 45mph when the highway traffic is moving at 65mph.

Then there are the idiots that are on the highway and don't pay any attention to the people trying to on the highway (merge) from the on-ramp.

I swear, the commuters of today are all ignorant and need to learn that driving involves so much more than just driving your own vehicle on the road.

Sometimes it seems like the car merging expects the rest of traffic to merge into them. ME, ME, ME, ME, ME, ME, ME, ME, ME!

The traffic law book of Washington Sate

The highway traffic has the right of way.
At any given time, highway traffic must move over to the next lane WHEN POSSIBLE.
Obviously, if you cant, the merger needs to either HTFU or resart his approach next time(which is impossible). So in the meantime, when he has nowhere to go, he will look like a total idiot and run off the road and Geewhiz will be laughing at you.

Depending on the density of traffic, IMO, the highway traffic needs to let them in when its congested or it will cause an obvious accident. Thats why when you aproach a on-ramp/merge sign, traffic slows when its busy.

When its not busy and people are slowing down, congratulations, your driving with a bunch of morons.

I like to try to overcome (drive faster than) the highway trafiic when merging. Its easier to slow down than to speed up.
Ya get some stupid folks that will actually STOP while trying to merge onto an interstate. There's one spot in Covington La that without a doubt these folks will stop while trying to merge onto I-12 (west bound).
I need a gun with stupid bullets (like Gallager said), and when a cop sees you with too many stupid bullets on your car you get a ticket for being stupid!
