: Insurance
MHadden 08-02-2005, 06:57 PM Well, I was just quoted $750 for a 6 month policy for my GTP...I pay 1100 now with my Focus...that's quite the improvement for a new car. I figure it has something to do with the fact that my Focus is old, and is expensive to repair/replace. Not to mention, my lead foot was an accomplice in getting 2 speeding tickets (35/20 and a 79/55  :D [thankfully almost off my record 3 years later])
What do you all pay for insurance for your G6? Don't forget to state what trim you have as not to throw us off ;)
bigbengt67 08-02-2005, 07:50 PM GT, about $1050 a year. No tickets/accidents ever!
MHadden 08-02-2005, 07:57 PM I had no tickets until I moved to Indiana. They have nothing else better to do. The 79/55 I got was literally out in the middle of a damn corn field at 5:30am and I didn't see anyone that morning except that cop.
At least I've never had or been involved in any accidents...::knock on wood::
Fusion 08-03-2005, 09:55 AM I pay $1560 a year for both vehicles that i own.
for my wife and i just one car we pay $1500.00 a year just got my new policy today thats down from 1800.00 last year
Soulmates00 08-09-2005, 09:35 AM My wife and I pay $1050 a year for our G6 and Venture through USAA. That is down from $1400 for the Venture and our old Neon. The G6 is a much safer car than some others in its class.
otcpharm 08-09-2005, 08:10 PM GT - $474 for 6 months.
$1080 for all 4 vehicles.
That's with an accident that my wife caused last year.
we really get shafted here in CANADA on our insurance rates
golf_n_motorcycles 09-02-2005, 03:12 PM $852 per year, G6 V6. Divorced, 33 years old, no tickets on my record, one wreck (totaled vehicle) years ago that was "no fault" on ice.
I was paying just a bit less for a 2WD Ford Ranger so I'm not complaining.
S8ER99 09-29-2005, 10:38 AM 165 month. Single, 24 and Male. Its call rape but somehow the insurance companies get away with it. Grrrrr
G6Action 09-29-2005, 10:48 AM INSURANCE.....interesting subject.
i traded in an '03 mitsubishi montero sport awd on my G6. my insurance went DOWN over $400.00 from $1199/yr to only $738/yr!!!!!
this is my take on it.....insurance companies usually base the rates on 'replacement value' and since the G6 is so new, they have nothing to compare it to. last time i checked NADA 'used car values', the G6 had "00.00" for value, meaning no info available.
my guess is that once the cars are on the road for a while, we MAY see an increase in our rates, but for now.....i'm enjoying the extra $$ i have!!!!
kevin
otcpharm 09-29-2005, 03:56 PM NADA was showing zero, but Kelley has values already.
Wonder where they came up with those, since it's supposedly based on area demand. I haven't seen any used G6's up for sale out here.
RedG6 09-29-2005, 04:52 PM my insurance went down $200 bucks a year with me trading in my 04 Grand Am for my G6
cnagy65 09-29-2005, 05:25 PM Its about 840 every 6 months for a GTP Coupe. Not really bad for living on Long Island, NY. The plus side is its 200 less every 6 months than the 350z I traded in.
SBMG6GT 09-29-2005, 06:29 PM we really get shafted here in CANADA on our insurance rates
GJS is right....I never had an accident...then one night...I hit someone...at any rate my rate went from 480/ mnth on a Cav Z24 a few years ago. Then down to 320...G6 was 316 then this year it went to 250/ mnth...dude...we do get raped here. Imaging No tickets...clean record...one accident (At fault mind you) then my rate on a Cavalier z24 went from 150 to 480 in 2 years....DOH....oh well, its getting better now.
Sad though.
SBM = )
G6Action 09-29-2005, 08:36 PM WOW!!!!
good thing i'm an old man and drive slow. actually, i drive so slow that i can see that i'm going to be in an accident BEFORE it happens and have enough time to call 911, stop and put on a clean 'Depends', pull back onto the road and THEN hit someone!!!!
now THAT'S an experienced driver!!!!
GTPGuy82 09-30-2005, 08:29 PM Jersey driver here, so I got you all beat. 23 Male, and I'm paying around $1900 EVERY SIX MONTHS. I have 4 points so that contributes a bit, but in April when the points get deducted, my agent said it will probably go down a couple hundred a year...big deal. And oh yea, insurance for this car was actually cheaper than my old car, a '99 Mercury Cougar!
Mike
G6Action 09-30-2005, 10:39 PM HUH, guess i'm not moving to 'jersey' anytime in the near future.....
SIMPLY BOGGLES THE MIND, doesn't it?
