I have a coupe GTP on order with a build date the week of Aug. 29. Went to a dealers today and sat in a gtp coupe and checked out the sight lines in the rear view mirror. The rear window is small and the head rests sure block a lot of space. Is it easy to remove the rear head rests or is it something I should get the dealer to do before delivery. Loved the feel of the car although the seats were cloth and the one I have on order has ebony leather.

I experienced the same problem when I drove the demo around. According to my salesperson, the rear headrest do come out incase it is too intrusive.

Tell me about it. With those rear headrests, along with the third brake light back there, there is very little room to see. And because the back of the car is longer and higher than the front, people behind you always seem to be closer than they really are. And trying to back up always gets you nervous. I always think I'm going to hit a car behind me, but then when I get out, there's like 3 feet between us! Still gotta get used to this car.

hmmm I tried removing the back headrests today, because I may be tinting the windows soon. I couldn't get those things out...is there something you have to push? I pulled them up pretty far, but they didn't wanna come out....I'll have to check the manual.

I figured there might be a button on the side for complete removal. I'll check the manual as well. Mine should be here next week, it's in transit now. :D

Did anyone figure out how to remove the rear headrests? I'd like to NOT take all day swearing and sweating if anyone knows the trick. Thanks

There are two buttons involved in the removal, one on the left raised post and one on the right post that the head rest is mounted in. Can't remember which is which but one will let you raise the headrest as high as it will go and then the other one lets you remove it. The second button or slide release is quite flat and hard to see. I believe that the one on the left raised part of the head rest support is the one that lets the head rest come right out. It is on the right side of the left raised part and by using both releases they allow very easy removal of the head rest. Hope I haven't made it sound harder to remove than it really is. I removed my headrests in the rear as soon as I got my red GTP and get much better sight lines.
