geewhiz 09-28-2009, 04:05 PM I need my brakes to be a bit more temperature tolerant; when the pads are hot from a long drive they seem to need more pressure for stopping. Along with this potential improvement the rotor wouldn’t warp as easily. This is really the only gripe I have with brake pads.
Hope this helps.
Ensur3 09-28-2009, 06:43 PM Improvement needed: My pads are very low. They have very delayed stops they are slow, and i have a tremendous amount of trouble stopping in the rain. It almost feels as if there isn't enough friction from the pads and it slips?
What i need from my brakes:
Low dust levels to keep my rims cleaner, and high friction in all weather. Something that doesnt squeel when i brake :)
I was going to buy brakes soon, but dont have the money, I could REALLY use these.
Lampoon 09-29-2009, 07:01 AM I need my Son's brakes to work right.....uuugggghhhhhhh...
Would love to have some that didnt throw a ton of dust...his wheels are always rust colored. They sometimes feel like they are grinding a bit. Smooth stopping would be nice. The ones he has dont really start stoppping until you heat them up so less fade if that makes sense.
SIGN ME UP!! Ill try some.
Then again.......I could use new pads like that on Barricade!!

and yes those tires were purchased and mounted by Discount Tire!! lol
jamestg6gt07 09-29-2009, 08:53 AM Popo still cruisn with ford i see. Thats the nicest police car i have ever seen. Damn! The G6 wouldnt stand a chance in a chase!!!!
Krizax 09-29-2009, 10:42 AM need pads that wont aid in the warping of rotors, low dust and smoother stopping.
DrkSpdr 09-29-2009, 11:50 AM I could use some new brake pads to replace the GM pads on my newly purchased 2005 G6 GT
Gambit 09-29-2009, 02:31 PM I just put new pads on from NAPA two months ago, they were overpriced like hell:mad: but so far seem to be working well... The last "El Cheapo" ones I put on from Autozone :( wore out in three months and warped the rotors... I guess what I need are affordable brake pads that stop quietly, with linear pedal feel, in all weather conditions with as little dusting as possible. (perfection too much to ask for, I think NOT!):D
KB G6 09-29-2009, 02:50 PM I need my pads to hold out going down the mountains in PA when I visit and be able to take the back and forth commutes in metro DC. They stop fairly well but I've noticed after a few hard stops in backed up traffic, brake fade becomes a factor.
Also been noticing some brake squeal on non-wet days which means they are going.
lcplmouw 09-30-2009, 05:26 PM I need new pads that dissipate heat well, so i my stock gm rotors wont warp. Also new pads in general, for less brake dust, less heat and better stopping distance would be really nice. Thanks
solidhadriel 10-01-2009, 08:21 AM Pretty much what everyone else has said, hah hah.
I'm looking to replace my brake pads and rotors (hopefully soon)... I drive a lot every day, I commute to college which is about 30 minutes away, and it's awfully embarrassing rolling up in my G6 with my OEM Brakes squealing louder than my music. I like responsive brakes that don't wear down their traction under high use/temperature as I like to do "high speed" cornering and passing in my car and need my brakes to be reliable.
Edit: I just checked your eBay store for rotors and you don't have any in stock. :(
Edit #2: Why is your red pads cheaper than your green pads? Aren't they supposed to be in a higher performance category?
Discount Tire Direct 10-02-2009, 05:14 PM Congratulations KB G6 You are this weeks winner. Please PM us your name, address and phone number. We all look forward to hearing what you think about your new brakes.
Have a great weekend! Good luck to everyone else for next week!

Devriesd 10-02-2009, 05:47 PM Well my brakes are OEM and not exactly ideal. I find under hard braking they tend to brake hard at first then the braking power fades. Hard braking needs to be more linear especially in those situations because you need to quickly anticipate what is going to happen in front of you. Also the OEM rotors, as previously mentioned, are very sensitive to heat so dissipating that heat quickly is important.
cheers!
Lampoon 10-07-2009, 05:40 AM Congrats KBG6!!!!
sla31 10-07-2009, 06:41 AM Congrats KB G6
Well, my brakes are still stock. I have about 31,000 miles on the car, and recently the brakes have been taking a pounding. I have had to stand on the brakes several times recently to avoid hitting those large game animals we call deer here in Kansas. And every once and a while one of those people who decide to pull out right in front of you. I have locked up the brakes a couple times recently. As a result of the brakes being used very hard recently, they are now squeaking very bad when I use them. I need new brakes to help keep me, and the other passengers in my car safe during those Kansas nights when those deer like to play chicken with your car.

stephcorleone 10-21-2009, 09:14 AM I need to have seen this post way earlier. Too bad my car is in the shop for rotors warping in less than 8,000 miles!!! I previously thought that what came on my car must have been great, bc I didn't need brake work for so long... I guess "so long" was "so wrong" and the previous owner must have had brand new brakes on it at trade-in or something. ugh. 8,000 MILES?!
solidhadriel 10-21-2009, 09:41 AM For sale: EBC Yellowstuff PM me for details. Mint condition, only unboxed to verify contents!
...Jk. :D
Discount Tire Direct 10-21-2009, 09:41 AM Our hat is off to Solidhadriel. After being notified that he had won he told us that he would be unable to use the brakes at this time. Instead of just accepting the brakes and selling them off to make a few quick bucks, (as many would do) SolidHadriel decided that he would rather pass his fortune on to another member that can get some use out of the brakes. We asked him if he had anyone in mind and he suggested Ensure3 due to his helpful contributions on this forum. Ensur3 has provided help for Solid in the past and continues to offer help to other members here on the forums. We would be happy to pass this EBC product on to Ensur3. Ensur3, keep up the good work. We look forward to seeing your thoughts here about your new EBC product.
Congratulations Ensure3 please pm us your full name, address, phone number and the exact year make and model of your G6.
0Discount Tire and EBC brakes sincerely thank you for your kindness Solid.
Ensur3 10-21-2009, 04:17 PM Thanks Solidhadriel!!!!
