So, I have the G6 GT with the 3.5l, and basically besides performance exhaust and CAI, there's nothing else to do to the 3.5l, preformance wise, that's relativley inexpensive to do? I wanna get some extra HP without like takin apart the engine and stuff like that. Im lookin for mods like, new fuel delivery systems, ignition system, turbo or supercharger, intake manifold stuff like that.

Also has any body heard of the JET performance moduel for the G6. If so, is there even a bennifit to geting it.

CAI, Headers If you have an 05-06 model,The rest of the exhaust, good sparkplugs,Tune.

If you really want get into Port and polish the Cyinder Heads and Intake manifold.

Also
New fuel delivery systems $,$$$

ignition system Like MSD? not really need and also $,$$$

Turbo or supercharger You can but you will need to beefing up the trans,If you Did under 4lbs of boost you could proably get away with a shift kit, regular fuild chages and a Heavy duty cooler.... For awhile but it will take 3k to do right just for the trans. $$,$$$

intake manifold

you can get headers for the 05-06 model, not anything other than that

ok thanks i have the 2007 model.

do you know where i could get some prices for a fuel delivery system and intake manifold.

on the 07 i would have to pull the engine to do headers

and just out of curiosity do you know what kind of turbo or supercharger would work because some people say a turbo on a g6 is unsuccessful

You would have to source everything out, IMHO LS1 injectors(if they fit) and a Boost a pump should quinch the thirst of any mod you can throw at it.

No, lot of other stuff...

Would have to be all custom, Give STS an call it's the $$,$$$ you have to throw at it to work is the problem.

Don't worry, the vast majority of any mods you throw on the six will not only increase power, but also mileage so bigger injectors are not necessary.

you're worried about putting headers on, but you're confident about putting on a turbo?? i don't think you understand how much is involved with a turbo...

I'm not trying to burst your bubble here, but there is a LOT involved with a turbo and if you aren't very knowledgeable about engines/cars, then I'd suggest that you stay away from a turbo until you are knowledgeable about engines to the point where you can do it all yourself (except the dyno tune...cuz who has one just laying around?)

unless someone actually gets a turbo setup on a G6, then we're all going to assume that it "isn't worth the money"...which IMO isn't true, but I'm not about to dump that much money into my car because : 1. mine's automatic 2. i'll probably be buying a newer/different car within 5 years 3. i don't have anywhere near the money that it'll cost and 4. my G6 is my DD and it gets crappy city mileage to begin with

If you intall an sts turbo you can run a g6 on stock internal around 2-3 psi which might get you like 40 horsepower, and it will get you like 2 mpg better.

That is what sts told me. Apparantly their turbo is way "smoother" so it is the easiest of any turbos anywhere on stock internals. Their turbo's do get the coldest air to the engine though, that is for sure.

they get the coldest air to the engine because its rear mounted and only 2-3psi...it better be colder than a header-mounted turbo.

and 2-3 psi would also be the reason why it's so "easy" on the internals...

IMO, if you're going to do a project like that, you should do it right the first time. if you get that 2 psi turbo installed, you're just going to want more power...which means you're going to get rid of it and upgrade to a bigger, header-mount turbo so you can spool faster and get the air to the engine faster.

like i said, if you don't know what you're getting into, then stay away

yeah i know it takes alot of time, im just curious for like later on i didnt say i was goimng to buy one this second.

STS turbo's run at a lot more than 2-3 psi!!! H3LLO! They are like any turbo...depending on the size of it you can run one at 2-3 psi or as high as 12 psi. They make a bolt on application that is 9 psi strong...They can give a 210 hp v6 mustang 315 horsepower (at the wheels, so more than their GT version) with just 7 psi.

Has anyone heard of the SLR motor sport performance chip for the g6? dose it really work?

Anything is possible with the right amount of money. Keep us updated because I would like to see someone Boost a V6. I have the same engine as you so get to work! lol

OM NOM NOM Chips...

No. Chips are bad! Especially the green ones.

Lol. Yeah. I saw that SLR chip too and knew it was a joke. An additional 50hp for $70? Sure..and when does the engine explode afterward?

Talk about subjective mumbo jumbo!

Basics required to get more power are as follows:
1. More air and fuel in to the engine (CAI, better air filter, smoother air flow and less heat soaked into intake plumbing)
2. More efficient and complete combustion (better spark plugs and HT system, and better mixing of fuel/air)
3. Less restrictive and more efficient exhaust system (no not a loud one!)

That's all there is to it.
Now just to find someone who makes a kit or kits to achieve this......

Oh one other thing... the programming of the stock G6 computer for shift points and throttle response....SUCKS!
