: SEMA G6 Coupe and Sedan wow!
GTPGuy82 10-31-2005, 09:26 PM Came across this website while looking for G6 stuff. It seems that Roush is working on the G6, as well as the GM performance division.
Pontiac ’s roomy new 2006 G6 coupe already has the looks and performance of a competition-inspired machine, so it doesn’t take much to boost the excitement factor. GM Performance Division built the G6 Performance Coupe to showcase how wild the 2+2 coupe could be with replacement body parts. Those parts include new front and rear fascias, new rocker panels and a large rear deck wing. Forgeline 19-inch wheels and racing-inspired Wilwood brakes complete the functional/stylistic additions.
Vehicle Highlights:
270-hp 3.9L V-6
6-speed manual transmission
New front/rear fascias and rocker panels
Body kit
New hood with scoops
Large rear deck wing
19-inch Forgeline wheels
Wilwood disc brakes
Driving lights
Leather-trimmed interior with contrasting stitching, including instrument panel, insert panels and rear quarter panels
Painted console trim bezels
Special door sill plates
Performance exhaust tips
GTPGuy82 10-31-2005, 09:29 PM I don't know, what do you think? Pontiac G35 coupe? lol
GTPGuy82 10-31-2005, 09:30 PM And here's Roush's sedan:
GTPGuy82 10-31-2005, 09:31 PM rear:
Sweeeeeeeet!!! Now I'm pissed I already bought my coupe...... I wonder what brand of wheels are on the coupe?
G6Action 10-31-2005, 10:39 PM i REALLY like the coupe but not so sure about the sedan. maybe if it weren't Tweety Bird Yellow......
S8ER99 11-01-2005, 10:13 AM THe coupe actually looks pretty sweet. if it were RWD with ~300hp I bet pontiac would be selling them like hotcakes.
Daniel 11-01-2005, 12:07 PM I like the sedan more but then agin i own a sedan, Red or black woould look awsome
maybe its the spoiler on the coupe i could do without still nice though
GTPGuy82 11-01-2005, 12:38 PM I agree about the spoiler. I think it would look a lot better with that body kit minus the spoiler. And that grill in the front bumper is way to long lol. The front bumper on the sedan would look sweet on the coupe.

rgarofalo 11-01-2005, 01:14 PM is there any rumors of the roush kit being mass produced

They've got one of those with more power- called the GTO, and they aren't selling like hotcakes at all. I actually like the sedan the best, but I'd leave the body stock and just go for the engine and brake mods myself.
GTPGuy82 11-01-2005, 10:13 PM I think he means a car that can compete with cars like the Infiniti G35, Nissan 350Z, and maybe possibly the new Mustang GT. If the G6 had about 270hp, it would be sweet. I'd keep the FWD though, better for winter driving.
Mike
Subtle_Cynicism 11-02-2005, 12:13 AM I think they both look ricey and like crap.

Exactly. That and the GTo would have done better called something else. It got snobbed simply because of the history and its badge.
Fusion 11-02-2005, 12:34 PM IMO They both look awesome.
rgarofalo 11-08-2005, 03:30 PM I spoke to Roush today, they said they are still in a prototype phase and it will possibly come out late next year
NayC55 11-10-2005, 03:48 AM Better pics of that coupe they had:

I think it looks awesome.
Anyone know what exactly that bodykit/front bumper is, or is it just a one-of custom?
GTPGuy82 11-10-2005, 09:49 AM As of now, it's a one-of-a-kind custom kit developed by GM Performance. But these carshows always yield new parts so they might develop it for mainstream. I'm really not a fan of that wing though.

rwbooth 11-10-2005, 03:28 PM Can someone please explain to me why anyone would buy a Honda or Toyota when these things are around???
They are very sweet. I hope Pontiac keeps producing stuff like this - change their "image problem."

Like you said, GM has an image problem. Quality, reliability, reputation, and value is what keep the Asian nameplates in business. Their cars set the standard for the industry in whatever market segments they compete in. However, one very important emotional factor they are lacking which Pontiac has is excitment. It's always exciting to drive a Pontiac. It may feel a little unrefined and a little coarse at the edges but it never feels boring to drive a Pontiac.
CarMan 10-11-2008, 08:36 PM Alas, a body kit which is a combo of the GXP and Roush kit has been produced. It should go into production and be available for purchase within the next few months.

TheGXP08 10-12-2008, 12:04 PM That roush one is SOOO SWEET!! I wish I would have waited to get my GXP, and got that Roush instead.
Any Idea what it has on it for modifications, other than the body kit? What's it got for power?

The car is actually an 2008 GT coupe. The aftermarket body kit is custom made and modeled after the original rousch kit. The body kit will go into production and be available for sale within the next few months.
TheGXP08 10-12-2008, 12:40 PM so that car just has the looks and no speed to back it up with? That's kind of weak...

Yeah, no extra speed unless the owner puts some performance modifications into it as well. But no matter how fast you get from A to B its nice to look good doing it !
