I'm thinkin about getting a Borla exhaust muffler on my 3.5, what do you think? should i leave the resonator on? get a less restricting resonator?

Cut the resonator off and get a flow through there.
Dont go larger than 4" or your pass through will hang
down to far.

Borla's kinda pricey for a non bolt up. They usually sounds pretty good though
on the V8's....no idea on the V6.

thats whats up, the exhaust shop has their own high flow resonator that is like a foot long, im looking at that one. i heard its pretty pricey, but i'm just trying to get a good sound without paying over 400. and on the 27th, im ordering a crab intake...SWEET!

You dont need an expensive one.....just a flow through will cut it.

I think you should have to leave the resonator and get a less restricting resonator. I do it before by myself and its working. :D

I think, other than the GT-R exhaust, every aftermarket exhaust system should need a glasspack/high flow.

I like the sound of that exhaust though. Can you get the exhaust at WOT though?

Too bad it's not a catback with 2.5" piping

Borla has a crossflow muffler #40477 It's 2.5" I/O.

Hooker has a crossflow muffler as well. Its what I would call a hyrbid in that it is kind of like a chambered(read Flowmaster) at idle but more like a glass pack(read as Borla/magnaflow) under load. My wife had one on a 3.4 Firebird and it sounded really nice. Hooker calls it a chambered muffler but if you look at the internals they are not quite the same as FM...very unique. No drone to speak of either.

the 80 series fllowmaster is a crossflow but i am looking for a cross through. i was thinking cutting the res out doing straight pipe to the muffler and running duals out the rear and other idea?

For humanities sake, please put a glasspack on it or some kind of high flow resonator.

Any auto parts store should have some kind of glasspack. Ive seen people use Cherrybomb
