K&N notified me Monday air filter for gtp 3.9 is available, part #33-2315. Just put mine in and it fits like a glove.

I ill be picking up one on Friday. :cool:

That part number is the same as the one for the 3.5L engine air filter....

I guess it must have been the same filter as the 3.5 all along and they just decided to tell us. I can tell you that it does fit the 3.9.

I see ads on the internet sometimes for K&G air filters. What about them makes them desireable to put in?

Also, what is required to install them? I assume it's a little more work than a normal air filter.

If you mean K&N air filter they're not any more work that a stock filter if you are just replacing the filter and not buying the whole kit ( They don't make the kit for g6 yet anyway). The only work comes in when you have to clean and oil it. K&N claims improvements in performance and gas milage and just about everybody agrees they filter better.
