The G6 DIC is garbage. Get rid of the deck entirely and put a navi in. That is the best thing I ever did for my car.

The car runs perfectly fine without the factory head unit. All chimes are still working perfectly.

If you must keep the DIC, you can buy the aftermarket Schoche unit or relocate your deck.

I agree, my DIC works fine.

I agree, DIC is excellent on both my 2005 Pursuit and 2006 G6. On the other hand, I think aftermarket audio systems look rediculous and I will never bother with them, but that's just me :-). The factory 6-speaker in my car is pretty good, reasonably close to the 7-speaker Pioneer that came with my Pursuit SE. The 8-speaker Monsoon must be incredible.
