reset oil percentage

I recently got my oil changed in my '07 G6 and now I can not get the oil percentage on my radio to reset. I went to the oil percentage under the info menu and press and held the enter button to reset it, however nothing happened. Any thoughts on how to do this?

It's not working. I have tried it while driving, when I just start the car and after I have parked the car. Any thoughts on why I can't do it.?

Has it worked that way before? I may be thinking of my Grand Prix but I thought you had to go through a settings menu and Oil Life Reset was in there. Can't recall how you get to that on the G6, though - sorry. If I think of it I'll check the owner's manual after taking out the dogs tonight

How to Reset the Engine Oil Life
System
The Engine Oil Life System calculates when to change
the engine oil and filter based on vehicle use.
Whenever the oil is changed, reset the system so it can
calculate when the next oil change is required. If a
situation occurs where you change the oil prior
to a CHANGE OIL SOON message being turned on,
reset the system.
After changing the engine oil and filter, the system must
be reset. To reset the oil life system:
1. With the CHANGE OIL SOON message displayed,
press any of the three DIC buttons to clear the
CHANGE OIL SOON message. See DIC Warnings
and Messages on page 3-46.
2. Display OIL LIFE RESET on the DIC.
3. Press and hold the ENTER button for at least one
second. An ACKNOWLEDGED display message
will appear for three seconds or until the next button
is pressed. This will tell you the system has been
reset. See DIC Vehicle Personalization on
page 3-50.
4. Turn the ignition to LOCK/OFF.
If the CHANGE OIL SOON message comes back on
when you start your vehicle, the engine oil life system
has not reset. Repeat the procedure.

Dont hit INFO and scroll through to see the oil percentage info as it wont reset from there.

Hit MENU. See it say OIL LIFE RESET?

Then hit and hold ENTER.....till it resets.

Ha didn't see Lampoon's edit - just now I went out to check it and sure enough it's like he says at the end of his post - hit MENU and OIL LIFE RESET comes up first. Holding the ENTER (arrow and line thingy key for those like myself who will spend 10 minutes looking for a key that says "ENTER") should clear it all up

Thanks that worked. :-) I had done it before and could not remember the trick. I didn't see the thing about the menu in the manual. Thanks again!!!!
