I have a 2007 pontiac g6 3.5l v6. My check engine light was on so i connected my code reader to the car, it gave me the code P0442, which means a leak in the Evaporative Emissions System. How can I correct this problem?
i had the same problem but just recently found the part. its usually a defective solenoid on the evap canister. you will need to take off the splash guard in the the rear left tire well and loosen the gas tank to get to it. the part number is 214-1682. i would recommend doing it yourself if you can because any mechanic is going to try ripping you off and charge you to fully remove your gas tank, when the part is only like 30 bucks.
