wiper arm removal?

does anyone know how to remove the wiper arm? i tried it today and just cant seem to get it off, i have to repaint mine because they are looking pretty bad and need a touch up

i just laid blankets over my car and taped off what i didn't want painted and removed the wipers

greenman, i just couldnt pull the arm out itself, i didnt wanna break anything while trying to pull off the arm, and i did think about just taping up the car and blocking everything else and just paint it

Got it. They can get pretty welded on after a few years. Did you try soaking it overnight with PB Blaster? There are special wiper arm pullers you can buy or maybe borrow at Autozone.

Also, rather than painting them, did you price replacements? I don't think they cost that much. I've always just gone that route when they started looking rough.
