A handful of headaches

I got a 2007 G6 GT back in 2008, had one previous owner and about 50k miles. In the past 3 years that I've had it things have just gone downhill steadily. I had the check engine light with sputtering, the check engine light without sputtering (still an issue), the backwards brake lights/cruise control problem (still an issue, attempting to fix today), various dash lights going out and coming on, the steering wheel radio buttons randomly quit working for a few months then started back, all kinds of weird issues. The one that's currently causing the most headache (besides the tail lights) is the Driver Shift Control. My wife never uses but I always use it. It's gotten now where sometimes downshifting will actually upshift and sometimes (up or down but usually up) it won't shift at all. You have to hit it really hard to make it upshift but other times it works like it should. I looked through the forum for this problem but didn't see anything. Does anyone have any suggestions?
