reupholster or recover the seats?

Hi, I have a G6 I recently purchased (used) and the drivers seat is very worn, on the left hand side the cussion is so worn that the fabric upholstery appears loose on that side. *I checked the seat with a blacklight first to make sure the whole thing didnt light up lol (which it didnt ).

I also have an issue with the back seat cussion (the small panel which stays in place if you fold the seat down). The cussion has a slash in the fabric, maybe 5 inches wide (see pic at bottom). I was wondering if anyone knows what this part is called? I try looking it up online and cant find it anywhere. I went to an upholstery repair place and they said they can order the fabric and recover it for $80 but at that price it may be cheaper to buy a used panel (if I can find it online). Just dont know what its called because everything I searched wont show that part.

The upholstery place said for the front seat they can rebuild up the seat cussion for $100. They said since the fabric is very worn they can order new fabric for $93.70, so for a total of $193.70 and it would be like getting a new seat (doesnt include the back part of the seat, just the part you sit on). So if I have them do that plus the back cussion that would be about $300 for upholstery repairs. I was thinking maybe I should buy good seat covers. Prior to my G6 I had a grand am and I had leather seats installed for like $1000, I am wondering if it may be better to do since thats only an extra $700 (in addition to the 300 if I were to have them recovered).

Also does anyone know any seat covers that are professional quality? I saw some on ebay (racing style) and they looked so cheap, so that would be almost a downgrade since the upholstery in the G6 is actually decent quality. I saw some more expensive ones on ebay as well, but dont know if they are imitation of the low quality seats or not, so does anyone sugest any particular brand or anything?

Thanks all,

Gmpartsdirect.com has the pads for ~$40 each + shipping. Since these pads will be new, they might be darker than the seats since they could be sun-faded.

vikz99- I went to my local junk yard but they dont have that car (G6) because its too new of a car, they send the newer cars across the street to another lot who takes the parts out themselves and sells the parts way overpriced. I am gonna call arround to see if I can find another junk yard however.

Also thanks Abyssul- I found the seat cover on that site.
