Paint Chip

Hello all this is my first post on the G6 site. I have a 2005 grand prix gxp, and last year I had to get it painted because the paint just came off on the fender area/ rear door.

I also have a 2009 G6 base. It is now starting to do the same thing. At this point I know i'm going to have to get that part repainted, but is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening again? I hate now seeing this happen on two cars and have to pay a body shop a ton to repaint it.

I also do take very good care of the cars, I was them all the time (the gxp actually stays in the garage when it snows) so I don't really get the problems with it.

Thanks for the help

Google "paint protection film". It's very tough stuff made of urethane. Just be sure the new paint is fully cured before installing it. There are a lot of how-to-install vids on youtube:
