Oh so awesome noise...

Alrighty I'm going to try my best to explain this to you guys. I've got a 07 g6 with the 3.5 and 155k on her. Recently I've been hearing a grinding/rubbing sound coming from the front right wheel area. Now when I turn slightly to the left the noise goes away. Also when I go to the left the car jerks towards the left. Then it is smooth with no sound, and its going into the direction it jerked to. Today I replaced the axle on that side bc hell its got a couple miles on it and hasn't been replaced. Had my alignment done a couple months ago and I haven't hit anything ever. Any ideas?

Any idea if there is a way to check or test it before I drop $100 on it?

Jack it up just so the wheel in question is off the ground and wiggle it and see if there's any play or looseness in the wheel. I just had to replace 2 myself.

I took mine in to a shop and had them check it just to be sure and they said it was the hub so I just did it myself.

Does the noise track vehicle speed: faster=noisier?

Normally RF bearing noise would get worse as you turn left.

New hub and bearing assemblies are in. About to go pick them up and put them on. I got both sides bc my cars got a lot of miles and its my bday next week so I figured it was appropriate lol. Also ordered shocks, struts, absorbers, eibach spring kit, ac compressor and hose. Luckily I have a great gf that floated half the bill

Replaced hub and bearing, still making noise. Is it possible it could be the strut? Any other ideas?

I was about to suggest checking the brakes, but I would assume you already did.
Maybe take a look around the wheel well. Check for any loose plastic pieces, Maybe under the car as well. Look for any rubbing marks made from the tires as well. Maybe some things are getting in the way and making some noises.

I replaced the rotors about 10k miles ago. I change the pads every other oil change (thank god for life time warranties). When I did the axle and hub, both Times I looked over everything in that area and nothing seemed out of place.
