Question Getting new remotes. Can they be replaced with aftermarket radio?

I'm getting new replacement remote less key entrees for my g6. I noticed a lot of settings run through the stock stereo. I replaced it, So I was wondering if I will need to throw my stock stereo back in for the dealer to get them working with my car?

Thanks all!
