My car is making me angry again! GAS!

Hi everyone, im the one who had the steering issue and finally GM replaced my 05 gt with a 06 gtp...BUT! over the past few days my gas gauge has just been plumiting. I have reset my mpg 3 times in the past 2 days. Only to have it tell me Im getting 10.2-11.4 mpg! I do drive in the city but over the past 2 days I have driven approx. 50 miles on the highway! And maybe 10 in the city. This morning I let it warm up...got to the on ramp...reset it and drove 5 miles to the next exit at 60 mph...stopped at the light on the exit ramp and looked and there it was 10.8mpg...so does anyone get this horrible gas mileage? For goodness sake I could have a hemi and get this gas mileage!

hmmm, i noticed I havent been getting such great gas milage lately either. I wonder if it has something to do with the new summer mix with ethonol? But wow, 10.5 that what my Lightning SVT got. Thats pretty crappy.

I'm sitting at high 9's low 10's right now. And most of my driving is short distance, city wise.

I haven't reset my avg. for the last 8000 miles and I looked at it last night and it said 33.2mpg. Avg. speed is 37mph. I have noticed that with more miles on the car I seem to get better mileage than it did when it was new. Current mileage is approx. 17k...

I also noticed that if you let the car idle for even 10 minutes, it will pull the average down quickly. One day I let it idle and it went down to 22.9mpg. After a 60 mile trip at 55-60mph it was back up over 30.

Also raise your tire pressure a couple pounds over what the sticker on the door says... One thing I'm noticing of the people experiencing lower gas mileage is that they have the 3900 engine models. High performance = lower mileage.
