Lower Control Arm Replacement

Going to replace the LCA's on my '06 3.5 this weekend and was wondering if anyone who has done it has any tips/suggestions. I know the motor mount needs to be removed on one side and the transmission mount on the other but was wondering if they need to be completely removed or if just a couple bolts can be loosened and then jack the engine/transmission up an inch or so. Any help is greatly appreciated as the clunking is beginning to drive me insane.
