Car won't start suspect coffee is the culprit

Friday last week I was taking my dad to the doctor. His coffee cup spilled into the radio. Freak accident, coffee cup seemingly exploded on its own. Anyway, the radio popped and spit out my CDs so figured I needed a new radio obviously. The car however worked fine. Saturday I got up and went to leave, the doors wouldn't unlock with the fob. When I went to start it, it wouldn't start. The accessories wouldn't turn on, I thought maybe battery was dead. It wasn't, checked it with multimeter and a jump, same nothing turned on.

How screwed am I? Do I just need a new radio? Do I need a new ECM? It isn't the fuses cause I checked all of them.

Well that's one I haven't run across before.

What happens exactly when you try to start it? Nothing?

Was it a small 12oz cup & did it all run down inside? The ECM is in the engine compartment...I think you mean the BCM. It is under the radio. Have you looked at it yet looking for evidence of coffee staining around it?

I feel kind of proud to be unique! However, kind of upset my car is dead!

It was a 16oz cup, however only about 2oz went into the radio. Yes it went INTO the radio. As it was ejecting the CDs, they had coffee all over them.

I just got the car towed to the shop, they are going to call me tomorrow I'm guessing.

I didn't know what to call exactly what I figured was ruined. I am kind of hoping against hope that it was just the radio that died and I can just replace that and be good. I however have a feeling that it isn't going to be just the radio.
