I just recently purchased a set of "angel eyes". I installed them myself i'm sure the connections are right because all the lights work, but the halo rings aren't bright nor are they blue. My question is, are they supposed to be that bright? Or is there a way i could make them brighter?
well depending on whether or not you got ccfl rings or led rings is a big difference on brightness. the ccfl rings are bright all the way thru because its a Fluorescent light (ccfl - cold cathode fluorescent lamp) and somtimes with those it takes a little bit of time for those to first start and warm up. one of my rings on my eagle eyes didnt light up all the way when i first installed them but its fine now. buuut if you got led rings, theres only two leds facing opposit ways on the bottom inside of a ridged tube wich trys to catch all the led light so the light gets weaker as it gets to the top. and as for the color, there normally a whitish color. the leds may be different, im not sure ive never seen them in person only pictures
i mean the only way u can interchange the halo rings or the light source for them is to open up the headlight. but its really not hard ive done it a few times. just preheat your over to 200 degrees. take off everything on your headlight u can. stick it in the over for 5 mins and pry it apart. and when u go to put it back together just stick it back in the oven to warm up the sealant and force it back together. using c clamps is best. and if you want to stick with led rings then use oracles. there very nice and instead of two leds shining up its a whole ring of leds. but if u want ccfl then go on ddmtuning.com and get theres. there nice too.
If you plan on swapping the Halos, I personally wouldn't even waste my money on CCFLs. I'd be doing some sort of SMD halo, with RGB capability if desired. LEDs are significantly brigher and last longer than CCFLs.
i agree but there are no headlights that come with smd halo only the ones like they have in SPYDERS, and personally i think there very weak and not that bright. and i would go with ccfl than the 2 leds for now. but if you have oracle rings, they are extremely nice and i would prefer those over ccfl anyday. and when my ccfls decide to burn out i will most definatley be retrofitting oracles into my eagle eyes.
Well eventually id get the smd with rbg capability. As of now ill keep this and focus on different mods. Thanks for the info
