There isn't a direct upgrade for that part. You can get an NRG damper to replace it. I found this link over in G6P It has some info and a link to the product. There is a picture of it installed somewhere there too just gotta find it.
I know this is an old thread but some people may like to know that you can still buy these new. The excessive movement is because it's worn out. On mine you can pull it in and out pretty freely when it's removed and it lets the engine rock back and forth quite a bit. It also makes a loud clicking noise sometimes. I bought a new genuine GM one off Ebay for around $65. I haven't put it on yet but I can already tell a huge difference. The new one is super tight (including the bushings). I can't move it in and out by hand.
The part number for 05-06 is: 15235775
The part number for 07-10 is: 22708437
I also bought new motor mounts (all 4) before I got this part but mulling over whether to install them or not. I'm not sure the ones on there actually need replacing but it might be a good preventative maintenance move.
DeathKnight, your post is most appreciated. Here I am looking for one (22708438) and it is discontinued everywhere I look but there are no new part numbers given. I must check out the new part number.
actual motor mounts? At one time Racingline made motor mount inserts. But not sure if you can find them anymore. If your talking about the engine damper go with the NRG
