Question recalls

Does anybody know how long it will take for some of the problems we have with are G6 to become recalls?

Hey, maybe we should have an area where we could post recalls and the Country they have been noted from (Some don't apply to certain Countries) I'm Thinking it would be good to know if something does go wrong, it's happened before and was noted by GM.

Can any of you tell me what some of these problems consist of? Like I said earlier, I'm thinking of getting a G6, but am kinda worried about some of the first-year problems.

Actually there's a bunch of sites on the net you can find things recalled already - there is only one I can see although I know mine went in for the doors and trunk unlocking on thier own.

Here's the info....

Make : PONTIAC Model : G6 Year : 2005
Manufacturer : GENERAL MOTORS CORP.
NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number : 05V098000 Recall Date : MAR 09, 2005
Component: EQUIPMENT:OTHER:OWNERS/SERVICE/OTHER MANUAL
Potential Number Of Units Affected : 35777

Summary:
CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES FAIL TO CONFORM TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 225, 'CHILD RESTRAINT ANCHORAGE SYSTEMS.' THE CHILD RESTRAINT LOWER ANCHORS IN THE CENTER REAR SEATING POSITION ARE LOCATED APPROXIMATELY 90MM BEHIND THE CORRESPONDING Z-POINT OF THE CHILD RESTRAINT FIXTURE (CRF). THE OWNER'S MANUAL STATES THAT ANCHORS ARE AT THE OUTBOARD SEATING POSITIONS ONLY.

Consequence:
WITHOUT ADDITIONAL AND CORRECTED OWNER'S MANUAL INFORMATION, AN OWNER MAY ENCOUNTER DIFFICULTY IN INSTALLING CHILD RESTRAINTS WITH RIGID ATTACHMENTS IN THE CENTER POSITION.

Remedy:
OWNERS WILL BE MAILED AN OWNER'S MANUAL SUPPLEMENT. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN ON APRIL 6, 2005. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT PONTIAC AT 1-800-620-7668.

I, however, received no such supplement. I purchased mine in the latter part of March though... still, no supplement has arrived.

I too would be most interested in a weblink on how to view G6 recalls...
