oil leak behind main pulley

I have a 2006 with the V6 (not GTP) and I have some oil leakage behind the main drive pulley coming off the motor at the bottom. My question is what way does that bolt that holds the pulley on turn out? Is it regular thread or reverse? I need to use the impact, but dont want to go the wrong way!

Also is there a seal behind that pulley that is replaceable? Thanks for the help

Right hand thread, removing the pulley will give you access to the front cover seal.

It is indeed a standard thread bolt (counterclockwise to loosen) I got the pulley (harmonic balancer) off with the use of a puller and had to drill and tap three 5/16 holes in the balancer to use the puller......what a pain GM was dumb enough to press on a balancer and not make it removeable! Nice work GM. Anyway Got it off and there is a main seal around there (black ring) but I cant find a parts store that carries one. the dealer I called couldn't even find it! I am going to try another dealer tomorrow....Thanks again. Hopefully I can get this thing fixed.....Should have bought a Dodge!

Alright apparently that seal is called the "timing cover seal" ($7 at Advance Auto. Pressed the new seal in......just need to know the torque spec for the bolt that holds on the harmonic balancer......Anyone?

I also noticed that when I removed the center bolt holding the harmonic balancer on it had some rtv on it. When I re-assembled I put rtv on the inside of the balancer where it slides onto the shaft. I think that is supposed to seal that up so no oil leaks through there where the key is on th shaft. Hopefully this helps someone. Cool part is the fix only cost $7 for the seal and couple bucks for rtv if you don't keep any in your garage. I am pretty posative this will fix my leak.......
