Shifter cable/has anyone replaced one?

I had the shifter cable replaced under a recall last week and now it seems like there’s a clunking sound when I press the brake pedal or release it. I not positive but it might be caused by the bracket it goes thru! It doesn’t appear to be secured to the bracket, the bracket has a u shaped opening that faces up that the cable goes down into and when I lift up and down on this it does make a clunking noise but it could be something else. Does anyone know how this cable is secured to the bracket?
