Overheating not sure why

So in the last couple days my car has started overheating. Everything pointed towards the thermostat with the blowing cold air when at running temperature to the temp gauge rising over 225. So I replaced the thermostat and the temp sensor because I got the P0128 code. The codes gone but its still getting to hot to fast. I've checked the water pump and it seems fine. Looking for suggestions as to what the problem is and how to fix it?
