replace oil pan gasket on 3.9 L V6 on 2008 G6 GT

Is it necessary to lift engine to replace the oil pan gasket on a 3.9 engine in a 2008 G6 GT? Chilton's is a little vague on the subject but it sounds like that you do not have to. The way I interpret it is that it is necessary on the 3.5 but not the 3.9. Am I correct?

On the 3.5 you need to support the engine and separate the transmission a ways in order to get to a number of the oil pan bolts. I do not know about the 3.9, but you may be able to see if you can get to all the bolts, especially near the transmission. This may help you decide if you have the same problem.

Good luck with it
