Squeaks and rattles
I got my '50 G6 GT around May of this year. I loved it for the first month until the panoramic sunroof started rattling. I took it to the dealer at the same time as the harmonic balancer recall and had them do both jobs. My service advisor called me and said that they were keeping the car an extra day because they had to take the headliner out. He said that they called GM and found out that there was not enough insulation between the sunroof and the the frame. Apparently GM didn't have an official solution yet but they said they added some insulation and eliminated most of the rattle. When I got the car back I was skeptical but found the sunroof rattle to be gone. However, now there are squeaks and rattles coming from the headliner. I took it back and they said that they "reinstalled" the headliner but it is exactly the same, if not worse now. Driving on smooth pavement is no problem, but anytime I go over the slightest bump, turn, or pull into a driveway, the headliner (presumably) makes all kinds of sounds like it is loose. Anyone experienced this same problem and have a solution? I'm wondering if the added insulation has made the headliner looser and thus all the noise whenever I bump. It makes me feel like I am driving a cheap car. I've owned a Ford Escort and a Chevy Chevette and never had rinky-dink creaks and cracks from the interior.
EDIT: Also, I could swear that I now feel a slight cold draft around my left ear while driving. Is that possible os is there no opening around that area that could be exposed? Sigh...If there was a way to get out of a 3-month-old lease I would.
