2009 G6 Block Heater
I just purchased a 2009 G6, (with the 2.4 litre engine) and noticed that it doesn't have a block heater installed. I spoke to the dealer and he was sure that I wouldn't need to have one installed as he said they never have had any problems starting them in temperatures as low as -35 celcius. He told me that as a lot of the newer engines are now aluminum, it is not as common to see cars coming out of the factory with them installed. I did some reading up anyway and have decided to install one due to the benefits of saving fuel and time for the car to warm up when it gets really cold. I was just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction as to where the block heater is installed. I am guessing that there will be a cap somewhere on my engine that I just have to unscrew so that I can screw in the block heater and route the cable to the front. Many thanks!
