REmote starter for a 6 speed????

I am picking up my new 06 coupe 6 speed tommorrow and I would like to know if any one has ever installed a remote starter on the 6 speed?.

Are there anywork arounds for the "must be left in Reverse"?

Thanks

I dont know to much about the computer config of the G6, but both my standarts simply relayed around the clutch. Made the computer believe the car the clutch was pushed in, contact a good car alarm shop and they will be able to tell you!

Its pretty easy to do on most cars, the only problem on the G6 is the car MUST be in Reverse to remove the keys.

The sensing of clutch pedal position in G6 is a little more sophisticated than a simple clutch start switch

I Would Not Do That, And I'm Talking From My Own Experience.
My Next Door Neighbor Has A Honda That Is A Stick And He Had A Remote Starter Put In His Car. We'll It Was About 4 O'clock In The Morning And I Get A Phone Call From His Mother, He Used His Remote To Warm Up The Car And It Was In Gear And It Smashed Through My Fence And Smashed Into One Of My Cars. Needless To Say I Was Pissed Off!!!!!!!!!!!

Having A Remote Start On A Stick Car Is A Liability!!!!!!!!

REverse

I do not believe it can be done as the shifter HAS to be left in R to remove the key then the shifter cannot be moved to N with no key. Hence the tranny is physically in gear so no starter will work. I was just wondering if there was a workaround. oh well !!!!

^ I'm fairly sure you're right. This is not an issue of simply fooling a computer. If that were the case, the development software could be written to make it work. However in this case you're dealing with a mechanical placement of gearing. You could set the e-brake but the car is going to lurch and probably stall out everytime you tried anyway.

I was thinking if any aftermarket company adds remote start to a manual trans vehicle they must have really good lawyers or make you sign some type of release form
