Top went POP

When putting the top down yesterday, I heard a loud POP. I stopped and got out to see what had happened. I noticed that the left end cover (some call them 'wings') was in the top up position what the right one was going into the top down position. I was able to get it tot he 'top down' position for the drive home.

Once I got home, I took a closer look at it and found that the "actuator cable" had some how broke. Actually, it's more the the cable guide that broke.

It looks like it's item 15 in this illustration. #5 is the actual cover itself.

Has anyone ever replaced one of these? If yes, what else did you need to replace at the same time? And do you have a procedure with lots of photos?

While, i'd not wish this problem on anyone, I'm hoping that someone out there in G6 Land has had this problem before me, lol.

Would someone move this to the "Problems & Solution" forum please? I put it in the wrong spot.

Thanks.

Still hoping that someone has worked on convertible top issues similar to this before.

I am in need of that same cable. Did you ever find the cable? Can you tell me the part number and where you got it from?
