transmission pan drop help.

Need a few suggestions on this:

Have the 2009 G6 base 2.4
Is the tranny on these the 4T45-E or the 4T65-E tranny?
Is the gasket reusable as I have heard aftermarket gaskets are garbage?
is the seal o-ring reusable or needs to be purchased new?
What is the amount of tranny oil that needs to be added for the tranny for a pan drop.

thanks.

Its def not a 4t65. Thats a big trans for a 4 cyl car imo.

The g6 came with a 4t45, 6t70, 6t40 and f40.

You have a 4t45 trans.

It will take about 7 qts of dexrom VI fluid.

And also I would replace all gaskets. No need for aftermarket. Just go to gm dealer and ask for those gaskets. And order them. Or go to rockauto.com. they have AC DELCO gaskets for thats trans on the cheap.

I would check your RPO codes. The 4 cyl also came with a 6 speed.
I wouldn't reuse the gasket. Often times when you get a new filter it comes with a new gasket.

I have the 4T45-E, I called the dealer but they want 57 for the filter and 51 for the gasket.

I can get them both GM factory original for around 60 on Amazon or I can get them from rockouto or advanceauto.

Went with the following all from Advance auto parts:

Driveworks filter and gasket and a felpro gasket gasket as I heard the gaskets that come with the kits are garbage and have heard nothing but bad news. I had a 30% off code so all was 27

Thanks again to all!

Did the drop this weekend and was faily easy. I immediately threw away the gasket that came with the driveworks transmission kit and only used the filter seal and filter. It was COMPLETE garbage. I used the Felpro filter which was an exact match of the original gasket and did decide to use the new gasket since it was $14. 7 quarts came out and so far the car seems to shift much better.

Question, have any of you experienced and weird shifting? Every once and awhile when my car shifts at low speeds, 1st to 2nd or 3rd to 4th while lightly pressing the gas the RPM jumps about 100-200 RPMs. THis only happends at about 1,500 to 2,000 RPMs. I read in another thread this was normal with a non lockable torque converter?

Any ideas?
