oil change - how much oil? (G6 GT)

Just what the topic says - how much oil should be added to the 3.5L engine at the time of an oil and filter change?

Anything unique about changing oil on a G6 GT that I should know about?

Thanks.

On demand calls for 4 quarts, w\ filter.
I just did mine and it told me to do 5.5, and it was dead on the money.

Think about oil deprivation when you change your oil. While your engine is at high RPMs you are flowing a lot of oil. I find that filling my crankcase till the oil on the dipstick is at the higher end of the full mark would prevent this (oil deprevation.) On some cars in the past I street raced I noticed the engines pitch was different (at high RPMs) once I started to fill the engines oil to just below the top of the fill/full mark. But beware! do not overfill!!!!!!!
This is just my experience along with my old racing buddies.

Right now Advance Auto Parts has a deal for $29.99 ANY 5 quarts of Mobil1 (that includes the Extended Protection which is what is considered a true synthetic) and a Mobil1 oil filter. I nabbed 5 quarts of EP 10w30 and my M1-206 filter last night! (3.9L GTP)
