Throttle Position Sensor

My kid's car which is a 2007 G6 with the 3.5 has had stalling issues twice in the four months we've owned it. As you slow down it will idle rough and die. You can avoid this by putting it into neutral as you slow down. Anyways, it eventually goes away. The first time it happened after it worked itself out I cleaned out the throttle body.

This time I was just going to replace the throttle position sensor, but my friend is telling me to replace the whole throttle body. He claims that it is a standard G6 thing to replace the whole unit. Anyone have experience with this? Can I just replace the throttle position sensor?

I appreciate any help.
