Rusting grill

I bought a 2008 G6 a few months ago off Craigslist. Wanted to get one at a dealer, but price was cheaper on craigslist. Big mistake, the previous owner really beat up this poor car and over the last few months I have washed it once a week at minimum, got the interior detailed by professionals and have sunk hundreds into the car with repairs. One of the things I am noticing is that the grill is starting to rust and it really doesn't look good on the black car. Can I just remove the grill insert? Is that safe? If not, what would be the best option for sprucing up the grill.

Thanks!

Yeah you can definitely remove them.
Here's some instructions http://www.pfyc.com/supportfiles/G6_06-XX_Manual.pdf

Also if you search here at one time we found a place to buy them really cheap.
