What is your definition of "Detail"?
Wash/Wax/Vacuum/Windows is a cleaning. You'll need to get very fast at it and have a decent volume to make any money at it. $25/$50/$75/$150 (compact/sedan/truck or SUV/Boat or Camper)at the most.
Wash/Clay/Polish with different levels of agressiveness of pad and compound/Glaze and other last step products/Rims/Tires/Carpet vacuum and extraction/Cleaning of nooks and crannies/Possible touch-up of chips and scratches/Wetsanding/etc. can be anywhere from $200 to $800 depending on the vehicle and what needs done to it.
I recently detailed a four door Jeep Rubicon for $300. Took me 6 hours and two different levels of pad and polish (it was black). It was hard work but it looked like a show Jeep by the time I was done with it and I made $50 an hour...so I can't complain. I actually overcharged because I didn't want to do it and asked for the guy to NOT give my name and number to his other buddies who like to take their wive's SUVs and Jeeps offroad and get them all scuffed up. Detailing was fun while it lasted...but I'm getting too old and crabby for it and I now make enough in my dayjob to not have to. Sometimes it's nice for extra cigar and beer money, though.
