Hey guys. I am wanting to get a new double din touch screen radio for my 2007 pontiac g6. I'm new at this and have no idea what I need or what to do. Can someone help me out so I don't mess anything up? I also have 2 twelves already hooked up in my trunk with an amp and want to know how to hook that up to the new radio. Thanks!
I've got a JVC DD in mine, but I had it installed as I had no idea as to how to do it. If you want your steering wheel controls to work, there is an adapter that you need to get with the radio. You will loose the display function, though. Or at least I did.
If you have no idea, I would take it to a shop. But this is what you will need:
-Dash kit
-Metra 99-3303 (if you want to keep the functions of your DIC)
-wiring harness (only if you dont get the 99-3303)
-antenna adapter (only if you dont get the 99-3303)
-steering wheel control module (if you have steering wheel controls and want to retain them)
You will be able to hook your subs up to the new radio. Likely you have a line out converter hooked up right now. The RCA's running from it will just go the radio instead of the LOC.
Ok! But I am getting a 7 in screen double deck. I think I've got the right parts and everything. I will post the final result if it works and what I use! Fingers crossed!
Dmanj - Where did you put the Metra 99-3303? From what I see at Crutchfield (and others) that fits a single-din head unit. Similar to yours, my JVC is a 7".
I put it in the glovebox. I just cut the top off so i just had the bottom section that holds the DIC.
