CIA box

ok wasn't to sure on where to post this so i thought i would ask here

so i was looking at a few intake boxes and got to thinking is it possible to use your existing intake box as a heatshield for an after market intake. just need to know if someone has done this or if it is even possible, because the stock box looks pretty much the same might have to hollow it out or drill a larger hole in it but it seems like it would work

Not sure, if you cut it up and add some weather stripping on the edges I'm sure you'll get a result. Everyone mostly just gets the cab from Crabintakes.com It's a nice heatshield that you just bolt in place, very positive reviews about it.
