Mass Air Flow "grille" ?!

Hey guys, i just took a look at the MAF when i removed the air filter ( 07 GT 3.5L v6 ), and there is a kind of... plastif filter/grille in the maf.. u see it when you remove the air box... is that safe to remove it to make it sound louder ?

I don't think that it's restrictive, and it'd potentially be harmful to remove it. I do not think it'd make the stock intake any louder, and I think it could ultimately result in damage to your MAS.
